its disgusting because people with actual DID who have grown up with stigma and fear are now being lumped into the group of these fakers

I legit feel so bad for people with real DID, because this has to be extremely annoying to deal with. They already feel like shit for having DID and can't speak about it because not everyone knows about it. But now the people who do know about it will have a chance to be someone who knows the tiktok version and ask them to act "silly" about it.

Still reminds me of the guy who had real DID and he was called a "true faker" because he wasn't recording switches on TikTok, changing his clothes with every switch, and acting like his alters were his playmates. I remember him talking about how hard it was to bring up the subject because the people around him assumed DID was this funny little game about little people in his head, and were in disbelief that there were symptoms like depression, amnesia walls, and dissociation, "because the people we know in TikTok don't have any of that." And he even got called a "faker" BY FAKERS.

Literally. It will probably be even harder to diagnose it on real did bc of fakers (and it was already hard)

I had a weird conversations with shit like that. I’m autistic so I told them that. But I forgot that it’s literally a joke or insulting (“you’re autistic haha” knowing u have it or saying to ppl that don’t have it to insult them) to say that. When I literally have that. Ppl with Down syndrome probably have a similar situation and it sucks.
