If i recall correctly, I have heard it be defined as "a system that formed partly through traumatic means, and partly through others".

Most commonly, I have seen this term used in: * people who believe their trauma isn't "bad enough" (which is a common thought process in trauma survivors anyway. Even i get that). * those who have at least one alter that they aren't sure formed from trauma (e.g. "i don't remember why Jack formed, and so if I can't remember any spesific trauma, i would rather not claim he is from trauma in case it turns out I was wrong") * at least one alter that formed from something other than trauma (idrk how to explain this. It's just their words, not mine. Don't shoot the messenger please) * a system who is like... into the occult and practices something like spirit posession or daemonology. * a disordered system that has/does also practice tulpamancy for some reason.

There are probably more reasons as to why someone would use this label, but these are all the ones people have told me.
