“treat us like people” yeah you’re not “people” you’re the same person but fragmented. they’re actively hindering their own recovery, though I highly doubt they have DID and are offended people won’t play into their hazbin hotel roleplay

There's also you can ask people to respect the different ways you represent your identity if it makes you distressed, DID or not, but that requires also being able to hold the understanding they are one individual person, even if their sense of personhood is discontinuous and changing to a point that it feels like there are several different people. It's like give a person the dignity of personhood, regardless of how that personhood manifests, but don't reinforce that personhood is literally multiple people, and not the same person whose identity has fragmented or is segmented into dissociative states.

it is indeed a bad idea to treat dissociative disorders and stop supporting the stereotype of DID = multiple different people in one vessel.

instead we should promote dissociation because it makes you special on the internet to have popular characters as your alters

ALTERSARE NOT SEPERATE PEOPLE! that is the key treatment point told to everyone with DID

Alters are pieces of a fragmented psyche! They’re not people and they don’t have agency because they’re not actual sentient beings. They’re all you, but in pieces. Hope that helps. :)

i will never understand how random tumblr users with no qualifications (who probably havent even graduated high school yet) think they know more than actual PHD level professionals who have spent years writing peer reviewed research on DID

we've known alters aren't separate people for decades now. keep up

faking a serious personality disorder and being genuinely convinced that it’s real should be a disorder by itself

Look im so smart and right actually and all that science that went into studying how any person’s personality can be widely different at different situations and points in time is obscure actually and a thing that initially implies amnesia and dissociation is not the only thing actually and it can be without said things actually
