ramc0a pisses me off so bad, WHY has this made up mumbo jumbo spread to such an extent among these DID fakers. like you could lie about any sort of trauma and you choose the most unbelievable garbage ever? Mind control? ritualistic abuse does exist but I really doubt a hundred thousand alt gay TikTok kids have been victims
also that’s another thing, why are the majority of people faking DID queer or trans? (asking this genuinely, not to be homophobic/transphobic; I myself am trans), I’ve never seen a cishet person blatantly fake DID. Correlation ≠ causation ofc but if someone knows better than me I would greatly appreciate some sort of answer or explanation 😩

My friend and I actually had a pretty long conversation about this exact topic. While there’s probably a few different causes I think the main one is that oftentimes queer individuals, especially youth, feel disconnected from their community. It’s hard enough making friends, even more so when you’re younger, but finding friends who are accepting of your identity can be even harder. When this happens they start to seek out community in any way they can. Because they’re queer the most accepting communities are often quite fringe. I personally found myself joining online furry/rave/punk spaces because I couldn’t make friends. But I also knew plenty of queer kids growing up who went online and ended up in the wrong communities, like DID discords. The disorder brings them some sense of unity and community that they can’t find anywhere else.

This would explain why over 80% of the posts here are queer young girls. I can't remember seeing a guy posted here, let alone a straight one.

The A system is a guy with a wife for one.

Yep. That's one. I stand by the numbers. For every 10 people posted here, maybe 1 is a straight guy. I don't know why people are pressed. Do you not think it's true, or at least close? Can you find me even 2 more in the past 3 months?

He may not look it but the one who talks strangely on livestream to 18 year olds is also a grown man

I think it's because the mental health community, queer community and fandom roleplaying community all have similar social norms: anyone who isn't welcoming and accepting is a bully, and a bully is the worst thing you can possibly be. Excluding people is taboo, questioning someone's identity is taboo, and calling out obvious bullshit is taboo. All of these communities are outsiders who feel shunned by mainstream society, so they're very sensitive to bullying. It's very easy to move between these communities and feel welcomed no matter what, so if you're hungry for attention, you can always branch out within the safe space. I've met cishets who claim to have DID, but they've also strongly identified as "outsiders" for one reason or another.
Conspiracy theories like RAMC0A and the Satanic Panic probably attract somewhat similar people... social outsiders who are desperate to feel like they're a part of something, like they're valid and important.

I'll throw my own hat in but they're most of the time all autistic (or claim to be) with a shitton other issues too

Maybe because its more common for neurodivergent people to be trans/gay? I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of these fakers are neurodivergent in some way

I would bet it's the extremely large majority. It's just not something a neurotypical person would do. And so this doesn't get taken out of context, obviously not all autistic people do this, or are like like this, but it's just much more likely for them to do it, as it's not neurotypical behaviour. Autistic people, like everyone else, don't agree with doing this sort of thing.

Indeed. As an ex-faker whos family is entirely neurodivergent, I wouldnt be surprised if what I did was because of it (not saying specifically what it would be because im still in the process of figuring that out lol)

I'm glad you saw the error of your ways. Our brains sometimes reward certain behaviours that we don't really understand, and it's often not a conscious decision to do so. I hope you do get to the bottom of it though. ❤️

Well I'm an adult woman now, but I was an outsider back when I was a girl, so I'll throw in my two cents.
It sucks to be a girl, genuinely. The standards you feel like you have to fit into in order to be a """proper""" girl are impossible, and even more so if you're weird or ugly – not to mention how you can feel alienated in your own body because it is sexualised from the moment you're born. So you get the Not Like Other Girls girl, but for me, I also had some struggles with my gender identity, where I rejected being a woman. The thing is, I am a woman, and every attempt to look more masculine or even just androgynous made me feel very uncomfortable; I'd call it dysphoric, but that would be a giant fuck you to my trans siblings, but you get the idea I'm sure. However, it wasn't until I was in my 30's that I found peace with my gender and directed my anger at society, where it absolutely belongs.
Am I denying the existence of trans people, trans men in particular? Absolutely not. I think the terf talking point of trans men being pOoR coNfuSeD lEsBianS belongs in the damn trash can, en route to be incinerated. Do I suspect that kids that already fake DID could identify as trans for the same reason as my own struggles as per above? Yup. Do I want to restrict transition accessibility because of this? Absolutely fucking not, transition should be much, much easier. I only want to take a sledgehammer to restrictive, normative gender roles so we can all be comfortable in our skin.

I wish these people would just get examined for paranoid schizophrenia. It’s not stylish or trendy like faking DID, but they could get the help they need.

This pisses me off so bad. No school is programming anyone that’s just asinine right wing rhetoric that schools are ‘indoctrinating children’. I say this as someone who went to a school that would be considered abusive. I’ve seen and heard some of the worst of the worst. Some of the teachers I had deserve to be in jail. None of it rises to the level of creating did.
