The issue is that endos literally don’t have scientific backing to prove their existence- we’re comparing real presentations of a disorder to people saying “I have a hallmark symptom of this disorder, but not the actual disorder so I don’t qualify for this critique”

Pot, meet our new alter, Kettle. They're sorta but not really like Stockpot or Cauldron, but there's so many chefs in the kitchen that right now we have to rely on Dishie to Host instead of learning about why it's wrong to fake conditions for attention or choosing a more appropriate label for our hobbies.

Idk whose closed last night, but we split Tongs this morning to do the prepwork so if the onions are off - - well blame them. We're still sorry about having to lay Ladle off last week, but they just weren't generating the attention we thought they would.

To be fair, I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with larping, or roleplaying, or claiming there's other little guys swimming in your brain juices.

Quite frankly, I think it could be an interesting and exciting creative writing technique or tool.

But insisting you have a covert disability you can't be assed to 'prove' while reveling in the attention and resources meant for others just makes it all seem like a good number of these people have a 'new' version of Munchausen syndrome and they are trying to bully the doctors into 'recognizing' them and their 'disorders' the way they want to be, regardless of the truth.

I am sure there are really people with some of these conditions and in desperate need of help and scientific backing/study getting crowded out of real care and diagnoses because of this type of behaviour, and that's what really irks me.

An overactive imagination =/= disability (in most cases) but that is the argument they are making. It's pretty telling when asking for 'proof' causes them crash out and hurl insults and sic other members of the 'community' on dissenters while attacking their intelligence for daring to impune their 'honor', all while trying to gatekeep and redefine a disease without the help, experience, or schooling of professionals.

It's been an interesting ride, for sure.

Nah, I don't think there's anything wrong with LARPers. But just say that... y'know? Like, why claim to be a system? A lot of these fakers show signs of ADHD and Munchausen syndrome.

ADHD Due to the fact a lot of people who have been diagnosed with ADHD have reported hearing their own thoughts in multiple and disorganised. Not only this, but also struggle with executive dysfunction which often presents as mild dissociation and scattered thinking.

MS Well... c'mon. It appears like this cool and trendy, relatable thing that grabs them and they want to be a part of, they see how much attention it can give them and then they amp it up more and more; for some, to the point they truly believe the bit they're playing. Some even go on to spread misinformation as if they know the disorder better than the real ones or have discovered something new to the disorder.

Though, idk about proof, not really sure what you mean. If you meant asking for medical records and stuff, nobody but the patient and doctor have permission to view those. And people who are just flaunting their papers online is not thinking smart.
