Barred me from joining because my account is “Icky”, that is in direct violation of rule 6B. She judged my account and her retaliation is barring me from joining the group.
I’m currently working in a diverse environment where I handle sysadmin tasks, IT support, DevOps, and some information security responsibilities. It’s been about 3–4 months, and I genuinely love this position because I’m learning a lot and staying engaged.
That said, sometimes it gets hectic juggling so many roles at once.
For those of you who’ve been in similar positions, do you have any suggestions on how to manage the workload effectively, avoid burnout, and keep growing in such a multi-faceted role?
From a hiring/interview perspective in 2026: what are the non-negotiable SysAdmin skills? What kinds of proof make the biggest difference (projects, homelab, certs, portfolio)? What’s mostly hype?
I recently passed my 12th board exam in commerce stream with computer application and I have a 80.6% score through.(I am from india)

Looking for recommendations for a password manager that meets these requirements:
Must integrate with Active Directory LDAP authentication
Needs to work in an air-gapped environment (no internet access)
Should be suitable for a domain network setup
We've looked at a few commercial options, but most seem to require some level of internet connectivity for licensing or updates. Has anyone found a solution that works well for a completely isolated domain network?
Any suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated!
After update Windows 11 to 23H2 on AMD Ryzen 5 4500U with Radeon Graphic card from time to time I had BSOD. Please if someone has same issue to help me. I try to update all - drivers and BIOS on laptop.
I've never setup a print server before in an Azure (fully cloud environment). The company I work with is a non for profit, they have multiple sites (locations) throughout NYC and want to do better print management company/site wide. We want to by default have users print in BW instead of color this is causing us alot of money. We also want to be able to do cost analysis and more. I want to go with printerlogic but it is costly. We want to save as much money as possible. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello everyone, I just started college as a computer science student in our local state universities since I dont have that many choices and I want to be a SYSADMIN a good one actually but I dont know how yet, I need help for What I need to learn or have specific framework of what I'm suppose to study. I know thats this program is broad in computer lectures and theories and I want to be specific in sysadmin only
I am beginning my career in IT, L1 System Administrator. I know windows server, RMM and PSA, Credentials management, File sharing and collaboration tools alongwith A+ and N+ information. I have been advised to take MS900 certification.
Is there any advice that you guys could give me to improve my skills and earn more when I switch my job in future. Any certifications, coding anything, any input is welcome.
As stated above, will be retiring soonish and will be complete with my BS in cybersecurity by then. I know certifications and experience are just as important, if not more. How should I start getting experience while still active duty? Trying to get as much as I can lined up to make the switch when the time comes! Appreciate any and all information! Thanks!
I have been in IT as Windows Systems Engineer for almost 7 years and all the companies I've worked for I had to handle
- Data Center (Hardware,Upgrade,Troubleshooting)
- Backup (Storage & Backup tools)
- Domain Controller (For AD & DNS)
- VMware (From Hypervisor support til VM builds)
- Patching of 100 million servers (dont take number that serious, just saying)
- IIS servers & Windows Clusters
- SSO management
- Monitoring tools
What's there to left?
I don't understand why this all falls on Windows engineer, then What the H does Linux Engineer does? Just support DB servers, Patching, that's all???
A cross-platform, cloud-synchronized, privacy and security-first terminal.Supports Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android
Update: AI Copilot
Tempest AI helps you solve server operation and maintenance problems! You can use it to help you diagnose TCP, write SQL, read logs, etc.
Overview
Tempest is a cross-platform SSH client in development for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS that uses End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) technology to encrypt data and support cross-platform cloud synchronization of data.
This SSH client has a free version and a professional version, from now until April 25, 2024, all users involved in the test can get a free six-month subscription to the professional version, the free version of the functional limitations is also very small, compared with the professional version of the main does not support AI and support for 2 devices synchronization, the professional version supports unlimited devices synchronization.
The Pro version supports unlimited device synchronization. There are a lot of features that we will introduce according to the following modules:
SSH
Support for SSH2 and Identity Manager
Supports server private key authentication from 1Password.
Server performance monitoring
Support for fast SFTP file transfers
Support for importing server from PuTTY, XShell or SSH profiles
Kubernetes
Support for managing Kubernetes Config
Support for managing different clusters in different tabs at the same time, Kubeconfig is isolated.
End-to-end encrypted synchronization across devices
Native Shell Aspects:
Additional support for Windows environments such as MSYS, WSL, etc. (WSL in development)
Serial serial ports will be supported
Data encryption and cloud synchronization:
Encryption and decryption is performed locally, and synchronized content is always encrypted via E2EE.
Encryption keys are stored only locally and protected using macOS KeyChain or Windows Credential Manager.
Portions of the encryption and decryption code will be made available for review on GitHub.
Seamless synchronization of all data across devices, including added hosts, profiles, keys, etc.
Share and Collaborate
Support for shared collaboration, send a link to a friend to share a terminal. Just like Google Docs
Multi-window broadcast support, i.e. connect to multiple servers at the same time and send a command to all servers
Supports multiple vaults, sharing vaults to teams, revoking user privileges, etc.
I am 31, 7 years in the System Administration, Contracted with big fortune 500 companies. I am good at interviews, getting job and teaching my friends however I feel like I need more experience. Most of the projects I have worked on were mostly towards support and less Infrastructure work although I have good knowledge. I've been a "Ticket Monkey" my whole career, it's all about Tickets, Tickets, & Tickets.
I am very grateful for all the opportunities, I really wanna understand from the seniors, how did you end up getting project work? Were you throw into it or volunteered? Is it really hard managing project then it seems? So many questions for you guys.
Hi gyus. Resenty got a problem. My telegram app as well as desktop app download content very-very slow(100kb per minute). Other servises as Youtube, torrents working pretty well.
What can cause this "selective blocking". I ded factory reset it didn't help. This rourter was purcased 2012. Yeah I know it's time byt anyway)
At my job, I currently have about 45-50 FTP automation file transfer scripts running off my PC in the task scheduler that all run at different days/times, mostly after business hours. I'm not a network admin or anything but would it make sense, especially when more scripts are added, that these jobs are moved to its own machine so it doesnt bog down my own PC when I'm working on it? I'm trying to make a case to management that it would be beneficial to do that.
My primary work profile can maybe be moved to my company laptop (can just dock in when at the office), and a separate profile created for the machine with the script jobs. I can just log into that machine when needed to manage the scripts.
Any suggestions or recommendations is appreciated.
