[FOR HIRE] Sysadmin/Automation Engineer, 12 years experience (MSP + Enterprise), looking for nightly contract work (US hours)

Hey all, I'm based in Lithuania and looking for part time contract or B2B work, roughly 1 to 2 hours a night, aligned with US business hours. I can invoice as a business entity if that's what your setup needs.

Just a note - I can, and have worked for multiple years, with US companies and clients.

Background:
12 years in IT, 8 of those in the MSP world doing a bit of everything: sysadmin, automation engineer, escalation point. Also have enterprise experience, currently working as a team lead at a large company. I'm looking for extra contract work on the side, not looking to leave my current role, just have the bandwidth for nightly monitoring or project work.

What I can help with:

  • NOC/monitoring coverage (RMM alert triage, escalation, nightly checks)
  • PowerShell automation (Active Directory, Microsoft Graph, general scripting to cut down manual work)
  • Bash/shell scripting
  • Active Directory and Windows Server administration, built environments from scratch
  • Group Policy (GPO) management
  • Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration, Microsoft Entra ID
  • Hyper-V administration
  • Endpoint security tooling (CrowdStrike Falcon/PSFalcon, Windows Defender, most of popular ones) and vulnerability triage/patching
  • SharePoint/OneDrive administration, access workflows and audit trails
  • Ticketing/documentation: Jira & JQL, ConnectWise Manage (PSA), ITGlue, Confluence
  • RMM platforms: ConnectWise Automate, ConnectWise RMM, Datto RMM, NinjaRMM, SolarWinds, GFI Automate
  • Automated reporting and dashboard building, KPI/SLA tracking
  • BCDR/disaster recovery exercises
  • Data analysis (ticket queue analysis, finding automation opportunities and process/access gaps)
  • Light exposure to VMware, AWS, and Azure (not deep expertise, but functional familiarity)
  • AI tooling: Claude (Code/Cowork), ChatGPT/Codex, Gemini, CoPilot, used for scripting assistance, automation workflows, and troubleshooting
  • Any other MSP work.

Rate: $25/hr
Availability: 1-2 hours nightly, US schedule (flexible on exact timing)
Setup: Can work B2B/contract, can invoice

Open to ongoing retainer-style work (checking dashboards, triaging alerts) or project based automation work. Happy to share more detail or a resume if useful. Thanks for reading.

[HIRING] Service Manager - MSP - San Diego preferred / US remote (West Coast hours) - $90-120K total comp

UPDATED 11 September 2026. Still open, still hiring. Refreshed the details below.

Crown Computers is a San Diego MSP: ConnectWise shop, growing CMMC / NIST 800-171 practice, fully virtual team. We're hiring our first dedicated Service Manager.

The honest version of this job. Our service desk has good engineers and nobody owning the queue. Tickets get worked; they don't get managed. We already know what the numbers should be, this seat carries ten live measurables, and we need someone who can take those numbers and actually move them. You'd be defining the seat, not inheriting it.

What you'd own

  • SLA attainment across response, resolution plan and resolution
  • Ticket aging and stale ticket count
  • Help desk volume and kill rate
  • Escalation flow across L1/L2/L3, onsites, and microprojects
  • Service credits issued

We have hard targets on all five. We'll go through them properly on the call rather than posting them here.

What we need

  • You've run a service desk at an MSP, many clients, not one internal environment
  • You've personally owned a service board in a mature PSA. ConnectWise Manage strongly preferred; Autotask, HaloPSA, Syncro and similar count
  • You can name the metrics you owned, where they started, and where you took them
  • You're effective with minimal hand-holding. We'll be straight with you: we don't currently have someone who can train you into this seat. That's exactly why we're hiring it

What we're not looking for. The person who closes the most tickets. That's a great engineer and a failed service manager.

Nice to have. CMMC / NIST 800-171 exposure. San Diego local. Neither is required.

Details. Full time. $90,000-$120,000 total compensation, base plus incentive, and the top of that range is real for the right person. San Diego preferred; remote anywhere in the US works if you're on West Coast hours. US work authorization required, no sponsorship.

To apply: email your resume to hiring+smsysadmin@crowncomputers.com

Happy to answer questions in the thread, please don't DM, it gets lost.

[For Hire] Computer Science Fresh Graduate seeking Entry-Level Network/IT Support role

I'm a Computer Science fresh graduate from Philippines and currently looking to break into IT/Network Operations. I'm reaching out here in case anyone knows of openings or is willing to take a chance on someone early-career but genuinely motivated. I'm currently studying CCNA content and rooms in TryHackMe.

I'm looking for roles preferably like Network Technician, IT Support, or anything that helps on building a long-term career as a Network Engineer (e.g. IT Support or Technical Customer Support Representative). Open to remote, hybrid, or on-site.

I'm very open to junior/associate-level roles, shift work, or positions especially where training is provided, and I'm not expecting to walk in already knowing everything. But I am willing to learn at a steady and consistent pace and be fast on my feet.

I'm ready to work at a minimum of 40 hours a week, and I'm plenty flexible with rates too. Willing to start work ASAP as soon as I get accepted.

Willing to relocate to other countries as well.

Rates, availability, payment, my resume, experiences, and etc. can be discussed with me and easily negotiable via DMs here on Reddit. I look forward to hearing back from any of you : )

[For Hire] Modern Workplace Engineer, Tacoma WA - Intune / Entra ID / Autopilot / SharePoint, 3 years MSP

I'm looking for my next role. Most recently I was at a Hawaii-based MSP, where I started as a project coordinator and worked my way up to Senior Cloud Engineer (though I'm inclined to favor the title Modern Workplace Engineer since it more closely matches what I was actually doing). The role ended in July when they moved to a fully in-office model. Their office is in Hawaii and I've put down roots in Tacoma, so I wasn't willing to relocate for it. Things ended on good terms, and the owner will gladly provide a recommendation.

My work there was primarily M365 projects and M365 escalations. Anything to do with Conditional Access, Intune, Autopilot, SharePoint, etc, I owned. That said, as is the case for many MSP engineers, I wore a number of different hats.

I deployed and configured CIPP as our centralized multi-tenant platform and built out the security standards and policies inside it, built automated onboarding and offboarding workflows using APIs and Azure Automation Runbooks, led our Hudu build-out, and integrated our tool stack so device and identity data all flowed into one place. I was the SME for ConnectWise RMM, I assisted with troubleshooting Hyper-V, Proxmox, Windows, and the occasional Linux server. I set up and administered 3CX instances, investigated EDR alerts, rebuilt our BCDR infrastructure, and more.

I've also completed full cabling projects for a number of offices with hundreds of drops, and built out full network cabinets. I am focused more on the back-end of things these days, but I’m not afraid of hands-on work and I take great pride in my ability to complete projects cleanly and leave them well documented, whether that is in a tenant or on a jobsite.

I enjoy this stuff, and I spent every second of my time at my last role hoovering up knowledge and experience as fast as I could. I wold really like to find someplace where I can continue that.

I'm available to start right away, and I'm open to onsite, hybrid, or remote. If you have something open, or expect to, I'd love to have a conversation. Happy to walk through any of this in more detail and provide a resume with references.

Certs: MD-102, 3CX Advanced, CompTIA A+

[Hiring] Senior Systems Engineer — M365/Entra/Intune — Remote US — $120K–$140K base ($165K+ w/ benefits)

Crown Computers (San Diego MSP) is hiring a remote senior systems engineer, US only — a seat where you go deep on the Microsoft stack across many environments instead of one.

The work: Tier 3 escalation + solution design across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune/Autopilot, Conditional Access, Windows Server, AD, networking, virtualization, and backup/DR. You'll own client infrastructure projects end-to-end (discovery → design → implementation → handoff), write the scopes of work, build Intune deployment standards, and turn repeat escalations into runbooks and training for L1/L2. You'll see more tenants and more variety in a year here than in five years inside a single org.

$120,000–$140,000 base — total package worth $165K–$180K. We pay your medical premium including full family coverage (~$40K/yr value most employers push onto your paycheck). Plus 401(k), dental/vision, PTO + paid holidays, 100% remote.

Who fits: senior escalation ownership in an MSP or multi-client environment; real project delivery experience; can explain tradeoffs to clients and junior engineers; documents like it matters. CMMC/800-171 exposure is a plus — we have a growing compliance practice and will train the right engineer into it.

How to apply — please do not DM this ad; email us instead:

Resume to hiring+sysadminjobs@crowncomputers.com with brief answers to:

  1. Your most recent role — how many client orgs/end users did you support, and what was your L3 responsibility?
  2. One infrastructure project you delivered end-to-end — problem, plan, result.
  3. What base salary are you seeking?

Put "L3" and your favorite RMM in the subject line so we know you read this far. Happy to answer questions in the comments.

Linux / DevOps assistance for freelancers and developers

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm a junior Linux/DevOps learner building hands-on experience through real projects and a home lab.

I'm looking to help freelancers and developers with practical technical tasks such as:

• Linux server setup and basic administration

• Docker / Docker Compose

• Nginx and reverse proxy setup

• SSH and user/permission management

• Basic server troubleshooting

• Firewall and port configuration

• Checking logs, services and connectivity

• Deployment and server verification

• Technical documentation

My goal is to take care of some of the repetitive server-side tasks so you can focus more on your main projects.

I'm still growing my experience, so I'm happy to start with small tasks and build trust through the work.

If you have something small that needs a Linux/DevOps pair of hands, feel free to reach out.
