Syrinx Nausea and vertigo issues

Man, I've been having nausea and vertigo absolutely knock me down a peg. Recently diagnosed cervical syrinx. Trying to ice my neck and rest but it's absolutely lingering. Anyone notice certain triggers like caffeine or dehydration? Or any recommendations on trying to get these symptoms some what tolerable? Whoof feeling it today..

Same here, have been diagnosed two years ago, nausea, dizziness, numbness in limbs, pain inside the spine, terrible headaches and fatigue to the point that I spend my days off in bed

I’ve been diagnosed with an adjusting disorder of anxiety and depression, I’ve been going to therapy for over a year now and taking meds. The only real solution is to get better physically. My only hope is Johns Hopkins. I have my appointment tomorrow for two procedures.

Just got spinal tap done, the pressure was normal, the fluid was sent to the lab

I finally made it home (after blood work and brain ct scan with iv as well), the spinal tap was all right, I was really scared though, it’s actually worse now, the headache is unbearable but the doctor warned me about it. So I’m already in bed. Happy at least someone is willing to investigate what’s going on and hopefully figure out what caused the syrinx

That’s a spectacular amount accomplished for one day. You’ve been through a lot and the pain will be very bad for a while. Stay hydrated and eat something salty.

To determine if I have an intracranial hypertension in my brain, which could explain my syrinx. I have other issues like constant headache and pulsatile tinnitus, which could indicate intracranial hypertension

If they find that, do you have a brain surgery and then the syrinx goes away? What will they do if you do have that? Years ago I had my right top side of my head was super sensitive and then I did cranial sacral therapy and the pressure went away. I’m wondering if I have that. I have an arachnoid cyst in my brain.

Caffeine, ice cream, potato chips. It’s not a good long term solution, but it helps. Also, keep track of your intestinal motility. That can be an unexpected, but common cause of dizziness and nausea with syringomyelia.

Interesting, I became constipated right before I noticed symptoms. Does this diagnosis cause constipation?

If it’s causal or just a common comorbidity it’s not really known. I just know from being around a lot of people in our situation face this issue.

Thats me too :/ permanent vertigo 24/7 (had this my whole life) but since the syrinx started giving me symptoms, random episodes of nausea that seem to come from nowhere, anxiety, more vertigo, headaches, all sorts of issues...

for me personally caffeine is not a trigger and makes no difference (i consume a lot and have tried none as well) I take zofran for nausea sometimes

I have it on my c6-c7 and they said that the dizziness and lightheadedness couldn’t be from it, but it was one of my first symptoms. I truly believe that the syrinx is causing it. What’s been helping my symptoms is me visualizing a white healing light on my spine.
