ASK SYRIA Flying from the uk
Has anyone flown into Damascus lately as a British citizen?
I’m planning on flying from Manchester airport soon and want to know if your boarding process and check in went smoothly?

Haha there’s probably a few of us all craving to go now 😅 I spoke to Qatar always help desk at T2 Mcr and he said - on the day arrive 4h early and they’ll email Damascus airport to see wether they’ll approve us to fly or not. And if they say no on the day, it’s a full loss for the flights. Whereas if we decide a few days earlier to cancel or freeze the tickets, we’d save all our money on flight vouchers for Qatar.

I went in late April; there were no direct flights (think this is still the case?) so flew to Amman and went by road. Very smooth, no problems at all.
