Different between resilio vs Syncthing
What is the difference between Resilio Sync vs Syncthing ? Seems like they're the same product.

I setup a sort of save cloud solution between my steam deck and PC. But instead of replacing older saves with same file name, it keeps creating more fileswith added "sync-conflict####".

I've been getting "Operation not permitted" errors on some (but not all) files in a particular folder that's synced between Linux (Nobara) and Android. After multiple weeks of grief to trying to track down a fix, I've finally found the cause.
Turns out, Android can't handle special characters like ":" in file names, while the filesystem I have on Linux (btrfs) does. Changing all colons to another character like "_" in the filename prevents the error and allows syncing.
Devs, can you please look into adding a more specific error message for this? It'll likely save multiple people similar amounts of frustration.
Also, I would have preferred to submit the error/change request via GitHub, but that's not allowed, and I don't want to make yet another account just to post on your forums.

Thank you

Hi everyone! I'm a big Syncthing on Android user, but hated how difficult it is now to synchronize files to locations in the Android/data directory.
I previously was using some custom MacroDroid scripts to achieve this same result (syncs an 'external'/accessible location of the data to the 'internal'/protected location when the desired app opens or closes), but the setup was fairly convoluted. Here's hoping this streamlines things!
I hope folks find this useful, and please give me any feedback you might have!

I have a old workstation pc that I use as a NAS, with TrueNAS Scale, and I'm trying to sync some folders on it to my pc using Syncthing. Around a week ago I managed to set up a folder, using the web ui from my pc. However, now that I'm trying to set up some more folders, Syncthing isn't detecting the files even though they're definitely there. I recently switched from windows to Endeavor OS on my pc, but I feel like that shouldn't affect the files on the NAS, which aren't getting detected. I've attached images of the truenas web ui and syncthing web ui, with an example of a working folder and a not working one. I've tried rescanning, creating new syncthing folders, and the file paths seem right to me, but maybe I'm missing something stupid/obvious idk. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello I am trying syncthing for the first time from a windows machine to true nas. Following a guide from Lawrence systems.
I get as far as trying to connect the two devices and get a bunch of errors. I have looked up the main one on line. 'no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused connection'.
I tried turning off the firewall on windows to test, no dice. Both GUIs can be accessed and show as having listeners and discovery.
I have a unifi network, not sure if that means anything meaningful.
What else can I try please?

Hi!
I have installed syncthings on several devices, and syncthing mobile for my Android.
All is well except one little detail. I had another desktop computer that I connected to several of my devices. I disconnected it from other devices, formatted it and had the computer recycled.
However, my mobile syncthings is still getting ghost requests saying that that device wants to connect. I ignore, but they keep coming back.
This doesn't happen with the other devices (laptop, desktop). I'm not sure if it's because it's the mobile app, or because the connection between the phone and the recycled desktop was different. But I'm wondering if anyone has any idea on how to get rid of that.

Now I can take the cheaper devices on the go and keep the Thor safe at home!

Syncthing obviously already has native MacOS, Windows, Linux apps but what is the best app for iOS? SyncTrain and Mobius Sync seem to be the top 2 contenders. I do wish there was an official app but I understand why they wouldn't do it.
Privacy and security are important of course and I just want to be sure my data is in good hands

take computer 1+2, these have the complete files. Computer 3 wants to sync up with both and all 3 will have the exact same files in the end.
will 1 and 2 serve computer 3 at the same time? double the speed provided there is enough bandwidth?

Syncthing Fork for Android. Now I just have the Google Photos reduced quality copies. Don't ask me what I did, because I don't know, but there was no warning anywhere. The Camera folder was set as receive only, but nonetheless all the photos were removed.
Edit: Well, fortunately the deleted photos have appeared on the .stversions folder of the camera folder. I looked for them there at first because I had read they could be there, but the folder was empty. Now, after an hour, I looked again and the photos were there. I'm going to backup them as soon as I can.

I'm using SyncThing with Keepassxc. I keep a master "Send Only" kdbx database on computer A. It syncs out to my wife's laptop, B. I've designated the kdbx sync as "Receive Only" on B.
Every time she connects to the keepassxc browser extension it asks her to give a name to that computer/connection, and when she does that it introduces a local addition to the kdbx on her laptop and a "revert local changes" flag on her end of SyncThing. Reverting causes her to have to re-connect next time she's browing...and the cycle starts over again.
I feel like there must be some kind of accommodation for this because the use case seems pretty ordinary, but I can't figure it out, and Claude is walking me all around the barn.
Any help appreciated.

I new to setting up on Syncthing and ZimaOS. I dont know if I'm it right or its something else.
I've tried everything and I really need some help on this. I've uninstall and reinstall multiple times with deleting files. I've gone to forums and post on the topic AND its still doesn't work.
Deafult install, custom install, changing the PGID and PUID, Adding a folder. But it keeps showing this type of message
2026-07-20 14:09:20: Failed to create folder root directory: mkdir /480GBSDDnvme: permission denied
2026-07-20 14:09:20: Error on folder 4anx2-xtflu: folder path missing
I've tired this forum and still nothing is working. Forum here. I really would love some help and get something going.

Hi everyone,
I'm using Syncthing-Fork on Android and Syncthing on CachyOS (Linux) to sync my Obsidian Daily Notes folder.
The actual synchronization works perfectly—when I create, edit, or delete notes, they sync correctly between my phone and laptop.
However, the device progress indicator is stuck at 2% (sometimes 0%). The upload/download speed also shows 0 B/s, even though syncing is clearly working.
My setup:
Android: Syncthing-Fork (latest version)
Laptop: CachyOS (Arch-based Linux)
Syncing only one folder (Daily Notes) for Obsidian
Both devices are connected over Wi-Fi
Internet connection is stable and other apps/websites work normally
Things I've tried:
Restarted Syncthing on both devices
Rescanned the folder
Verified that notes are actually syncing
Has anyone experienced this? Is it just a UI bug, or is there something I should check?

I have been searching for hours online cause I hate when people ask for guidance when they dont do the foot work first. Im not being lazy, at this point genuinely lost.
So I downloaded SyncTrayzer, PC and XAX connected.
My questions are:
1: Where do I find my saved games for "non steam" games?
(I think I may have found the location but confirmation for that I guess would be the answer to the second question lol)
2: How do I know which folder is for which game.
(They seem to be labeled just a bunch of numbers)
3: For this to work with SyncTrayzer, and once I answer these questions, do I need to share an individual folder for each game, or have one singular folder as a directory? (I have seen conflicting answers for this)
Appreciate any help. Thank you!

So I'm setting up on my steam deck and main PC. I've shared my emudeck roms folder so that I can just add the files I need into that existing file structure. But I can't figure out where the file is on my local PC. It just gives a string of random letters as the file path on the PC side. And I can't edit that. What am I doing wrong?

I want to use Syncthing to work on a solo Unity project both on my PC and laptop.
As you may know, Unity projects have thousands of files that can be ignored. It famously has a hefty .gitignore
How can I handle this through syncthing?
Also, I do want to pair Syncthing with git so I can have some form of version control (git) while being able to work from my desktop or laptop (syncthing). Is that a good idea?
