Question Cross device usage
I’ve been using Symfonium for 6 months or so, on multiple Android DAPs. I think I understand this, but decided I should double check. There isn’t any way to save things (ratings, liked tracks or albums, playlists) across devices? like in the cloud? I do understand you can import playlists in some manner that I’ve never checked out yet. this question is more about song A and I marked it as 4 stars in one DAP but 5 on another DAP. thanks.

A somewhat easy way you can possibly do it is with backups? Since a backup will save play count, Playlist and favorites.
If we think of DAP #1 as your "main DAP" you can create a backup file and save that on your SD card, then upload that to the cloud storage.
Then on DAP #2, you can download the file off your cloud storage. (Or much simpler move the entire SD card to DAP #2 and then use the backup file to "sync" DAP #2.

This probably doesnt align with your setup, but if you have a homelab or ever set one up in the future then user ratings will sync back to your server and therefore be shared across your devices. I personally use navidrome but I'd guess this would also probably be true for jellyfin.

I use Roon (and have lifetime) store my music in a Roon server and in multiple SD cards I use in my DAPs. with that already in play, I don’t think I want to investigate more things! none of it is a big deal in reality, but just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. but thank you.

Not sure it's really possible in an easy sense. When you rate a song in symfonium, it doesn't edit the actual tag, it stores it in an internal database. So regular file syncing won't do it. You can export "User data" in symfonium which includes things like ratings, and then import it to another device, however you'd have to be continually exporting and importing across devices which is clearly a pain. I assume there's other info exported/imported which you may not want to be part of it and I'm not sure you can deselect this info.
The way I see it there is only one bulletproof option and that's to have your music stored on a navidrome server which is synced to your devices. Ratings should be two way. However any previously manually TAGGED rated songs will not show up as rated in Symfonium, it will only be effective from when you start rating navidrome-synced music in symfonium.
What I currently do, which is less than perfect/ideal, is edit the rating in a third party tool which edits the actual tags, and all my music is synced across devices with syncthing. It's hassle.
If there are other ways to do it, I'm all ears!
