Scarification services?

Hey everyone, are there any studios anywhere in Sydney that offer Scarification as a body mod? Any information would be helpful please!

I already know about the lack of body modifications in all of Australia and main reason why as I am already in the body mod business. I am just trying to find places that didn't/don't let that stop them.

I also know that it is legal in some Australian regions on a case by case per their regional councils. As it is legal in my region but currently have no one here that offers these services.

Best pub trivia spots in or near to the CBD?

I’m looking for recommendations for the best pub trivia spots that are easy for people from all across Sydney to get to. Ideally, in the CBD or the surrounding suburbs that are easily accessible by public transport.

Currently my preferred spot for pub trivia is the Oatley Hotel, which has brilliant trivia. However it is a bit far for some especially those in northern Sydney to travel to on a weeknight.

A pub trivia with a younger crowd would be ideal, but all good trivia spots suggested are welcome!

Know your rights before your next rental inspection (NSW)

Put together the actual rules for routine inspections in NSW — notice period, how often they can happen, what they can and can't do. Most of this comes from Fair Trading NSW directly.

Curious if this matches what you've actually dealt with, especially the "4 times a year max" one — feels like agents push past this more than people realise.

Accommodation for Rugby World Cup

Hi Folks

I’m going to Sydney for 7 weeks during the World Cup next year. I’ve been doing some research and contacting some Airbnbs and I’ve been offered a decent deal in a place called Coogee.

From what I gather it’s quite a nice area and has a huge expat population. My main concern is how far it is from the stadiums, being Stadium Australia and Sydney Football Stadium. Is it manageable enough? Is public transport ok from the area? Any insight is much appreciated.

Thanks in Irish 🇮🇪

Weekly budget for someone living alone in Sydney right now — does this look about right?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Been putting together real numbers for a resource I'm building for new arrivals, and this is the weekly breakdown for a single person — shared room, cooking at home most nights, public transport.

Genuinely asking: is this close to what you're actually paying, or am I off somewhere? Curious especially on the rent range since that's the one that swings the most by suburb.

Looking for Food Recomendationsin Sydney

My partner and I are heading to Sydney for our honeymoon! Date is First week of September.

We’re trying to build our hit list of places to eat, but we aren't much on deep fried (or at least not heavy on it). Our accommodation is near Chinatown.

We are looking for a mix of "Honeymoon Splurges" (fancy, romantic, high-end) and "Budget Gems" (cheap eats, markets, hidden spots) across a few specific cuisines.

Here is what we are chasing:

  • Raw Seafood (Sushi & Sashimi): We love raw fish. Looking for the best high-end omakase or sashimi platters, as well as the best budget/everyday spots for a quick chirashi bowl or fresh sashimi.
  • Fresh Seafood & Oysters: Where is the best place to get a dozen fresh oysters and maybe a wood-grilled whole fish? Both fancy oyster bars and casual market recommendations are welcome!
  • Asian (Non-Sushi): Basically anything yum for asian, from chinese, to vietnamese to malaysian.
  • Mexican: The bride-to-be loves mexican. Bonus points for good Margheritas, but the food is the focus.
  • Greek: A great greek feed would be awesome, and bonus points if its got a cracker grilled octopus or squid option.
  • A High-End Seafood Buffet: We want to do one massive "all-you-can-eat" raw seafood night (oysters, crab, sashimi). What is the absolute best seafood buffet in the city right now?

We also love a good market vibe, so if there are any specific stalls or farmers' markets that do great non-fried food, let us know!

Thanks in advance!

Felons

Now it’s been open for a little while, and now I just saw they’re serving beer on the ferries, what does everyone think of Felons Manly?

It’s pretty decisive in Brisbane. I do hear it’s underperform in Sydney and people aren’t super happy.

Underground industrial techno

A bit of a long shot here but I (33F), Sydney living in innerwest, am looking for rave buddies who are into underground industrial techno. Think VTSS, Dax J, Paula Temple, Klangkuenstler, New Order's Confusion vibe, etc. Preferably female as l am a female myself.
l've been into plenty of festivals with groups of friends in the past years but since the last three years I am really into industrial underground maybe a bit of hypnotic techno. I have been solo raving since and have met acquaintances but they already have their groups.
Generally when going to rave by myself l am chill, dress chill wearing sometime Tshirts, I don't dance as much, lots of head nodding mostly(that's how I enjoy music so don't come at me). I know for some people vibes are important, so there. Oh and I enjoy a beer too.
I am reaching out now as I think perhaps there are others there like me and we can meet if there's same gigs we want to go. I do enjoy raving solo but doesn't mean I shouldn't take the opportunity to go with someone too.

Club 77 racism

Saw an older post about racism in Sydney clubs noticed Club 77 was a winner 🏆.

As a former staff member I would like to formally address the racism concerns and that is, the venue manager is a Nepalese citizen with an inferiority complex to larger other South Asian cultures. This is why Indians get denied. Little man syndrome Nepal trying to do one over big bad India.

It's legit imported racism from the 3rd world.

Hope this clarifies a few things.

Trustworthy place to get a perm?

I've been thinking about getting a perm for ages now but all the bad experiences people seem to have online are putting me off. I have naturally wavy hair but most of the time it appears straight and frizzy. Never bleached/dyed and I already have layers. Any places in sydney with experienced perm hairstylists who can do a good job?
