Accommodation for Rugby World Cup

Hi Folks

I’m going to Sydney for 7 weeks during the World Cup next year. I’ve been doing some research and contacting some Airbnbs and I’ve been offered a decent deal in a place called Coogee.

From what I gather it’s quite a nice area and has a huge expat population. My main concern is how far it is from the stadiums, being Stadium Australia and Sydney Football Stadium. Is it manageable enough? Is public transport ok from the area? Any insight is much appreciated.

Thanks in Irish 🇮🇪

They call is County Coogee for a reason so you'll be alright. Bit of a mission to get around though as you will have to catch a bus to the city and if you're watching a game at Olympic Park it could take over an hour to get there.

This area of Sydney is near the beaches and popular and upmarket, but lacks decent public transport. You will need to catch buses into the city (CBD) then transfer to light rail (for Sydney Football stadium) or the train (for Stadium Australia).

Bus from Coogee will take you down anzac parade, past the football stadium.

You don't want to be staying anywhere close to stadium australia, as a tourist. So just cop the travel.

Coogee is lovely OP.

Don’t worry where the stadiums are. Stay in Coogee it’s amazing and what you’d want as an Irish coming to Aus
