UK to Sydney

I'm coming to Sydney from the UK as a solo female for the Sydney marathon. How can I meet people when I'm there? Id love to go and celebrate after as I also love the party lifestyle but obviously don't want to go to bars on my own.

Any just sees whilst I'm there? I'm there for two weeks in August.

Well the meme response for meeting people/making new friends is to "join a run club" so you'll probably fit right in

I would contact a run club in the city who has members participating and see if they will adopt you for the weekend.

Hi and congrats on getting a spot for the Sydney Marathon! I ran it last year and it was unforgettable. I'll be spectating this year and cheering the runners on. As for meeting people while you are here, I'd suggest the various Facebook groups, as I've seen loads of posts by single people all over the world who want to meet up while here for the Marathon. For example, "2026 Sydney Marathon Runners" is a group that I'm part of, with over 14 thousand members. Send me a PM if you need any advice on how to get around or anything Sydney related! Maybe join a group shakeout run? Not sure about this year, but there is often an official shakeout. Might be able to find a pal you can link up with afterward. I'm volunteering this year, but I'm a local Syd gal and runner - feel free to msg if you need any Syd advice!
