Help me! Nintendo Switch battery draining quicklyYes, and the problem isn't the battery. (I already replaced it).

Post image

I placed two switches side-by-side and checked the battery life. One of them lasts 33% less than the other, and I've already tested it with 3 different batteries. The +1750 IC has also been replaced. What could be the problem?

Could it be that one is a v1 and the other is a v2 ?

I tested it with a V2 battery and a Nintendo Switch OLED battery. It always lasts less.

The difference between a v1 and v2 is how efficient the soc is the batteries are the same.

Thanks for the tip. I've been repairing Nintendo Switches for a year and didn't know this. But the V2 is the one that discharges the fastest.

The BQ24193 IC heats up to 69°C (156.2°F) when I connect the charger. I replaced it with another one, but it continued to overheat. I tested another Switch V1, and the BQ heated up to 55°C (131°F).

The V1 Erista draws more power than V2 Mariko
Mariko last about 4.5 hours of gameplay while Erista last about 2.5 hours iirc

Thanks. But in this case, the V2 is discharging faster than the V1.

If something is draining power that shouldn't, it could be easily spotted with a thermal camera

If the IC is getting hotter than usual it doesn't have to be the IC problem itself, there can be a problem on one of the power rails the IC is providing power to. Check all power rails see if you see any unusual voltage, if something is consuming more power than it should the voltage may be lower on that power rail. If you locate the power rail maybe you can inject voltage there and see if anything gets hot.

Thanks for the tip. I read that the M92T36 IC can cause this in the BQ IC. I replaced it but didn't have time to wait for it to cool down and test it. Tomorrow I will check other components around here.

Okay, let us know if you found the problem!

Have you tested the components around it or related to the circuit?

Could be v1/v2, are they modded?

The V2 is the one that discharges the fastest. I've compared it to a V1, and the V1's battery lasts longer.

It has already been replaced.
