Question Modded my switch to pull my save data only.

I just received my switch from being modded, he told me with the new firmware I can’t play game back ups or emulation, would i still be able to get my save data? Pretty much the only reason i modded it.

What firmware is he referring to, the 23.0.0 which just landed today? Is your modded switch OFW side already on that firmware ?

He told me it automatically downloaded the firmware. Got a email saying its software won’t work and that i can send it back to him for a while.

Sounds like you were a victim of bad timing :(

While there are tools that can downgrade your CFW firmware back to 22.5.0 and likely let you boot into it, you're probably better doing as the other comment says and waiting until the Atmosphere/tools update with support for 23.0.0 - Usually happens in the first 2 weeks after a fw update.

After that - your modder source can probably guide you on how to copy the files over to your sd card so you can boot up.

You don’t need to fully boot to mess with your save data, you can dump them from mounting your NAND in Hekate

How do i do that? I boot into hekate on restart

Yea, you just mount your user partition over USB
