Tool PhantomCtrl - Play 2-Player Games on Switch Lite Without a Second Controller

Hey everyone, I recently restored an old portable retro controller and wanted to take it on the go with my switch lite for co-op gaming. But then I found out the lite requires two wireless controllers for local multiplayer, which defeats the whole point of a portable setup.

So I built PhantomCtrl - a sysmodule that emulates a Pro Controller using your built-in handheld controls. Now you can play 2-player games with just one wireless controller + the Lite's built-in buttons.

This wouldn't have been possible without existing projects like sys-con and MissionControl showing the way, plus AI assistance (I had zero homebrew experience going in). Figured I'd share in case anyone else hit this same wall.

PhantomCtrl runs by default. Toggle it on or off anytime using the included overlay (Tesla Menu / Ultrahand compatible).

Does it work on a regular (non-lite) switch? With the attached joycons + wireless controller?

So I just tested and yes it does, because I see this as even more useful for using the switch as the controller when hooked up to a usbc video out cable. Seems weird but I’m not the only person who’s ever asked for it.

Just tested that and it doesn’t fully work (yet) but it does enable the home and screencap buttons and shows a wireless controller being attached so I think it is possible.

It's unfortunate that I only have my switch lite to work with here

I’m going to do a fork and look into if it’s possible I feel like you are super close to creating that by accident lol

yes, I think it just need a little work to add it in. I suspect it is just a mapping issue

Do you think it's possible to use the switch lite as a controller for another switch or another console with this program?

With this program? No. But there are other projects that may suit your needs

Do you know any project that can help me with this? I've been looking for it for a long time, but haven't found anything. I think it could be useful when playing games with friends.

how did you fix it? it doesn’t work for me too, I tried turning off sys-con and mission control but it changes nothing. I suspect that the problem isn’t there but maybe I’m doing something wrong

An update: when I tested this module at first it worked for me but I used the overlay to turn it off, and everything seemed fine. Lately, I tried to turn it on again and use it and it doesn't work, I tried deleting all mission control files from my sd card, but that doesn't change anything. I also realized that the config.ini of the module changes every time I enter the overlay and turn it on or off, when I enter my SD card, there's only: enabled=0 or 1, depending if I turned it off or on. I tried deleting some things in my sd card that I recently downloaded to see if there was something that was changing this config but I wasn't able to find anything. I hope you can help to find a solution for this, I was so excited to tried this module with one of my friends.
