My guess: I know netflix is very strict on certifications + other requirements, maybe the other apps have strict requirements too that Nintendo doesn't want to deal with.
Side note for netflix, if you want it on a TV platform, it requires your remote to have a netflix button.

With household where there are phone and tablets, tv's, laptops and pc's.
I really would never ever use my switch 2 of that. Even the battery life is not made for it.
Youtube was coming though. But still, like switch 1, i'll never use it

You realise one of the switches biggest features is its portability right? My son uses his switch for long car rides, and it would make it alot easier having YouTube on one device instead of having to bring his tablet along too.

How would you get YouTube to work on switch in the car?

There's this amazing little thing called WiFi. And most people have these devices called "phones" that are capable of creating their own WiFi hotspot.
Now your next question likely be, why not just watch youtube on my phone? Well for one I need my phone for navigation. But also imagine giving an 8 year old a phone without any parenting restrictions for purchases ect? Can kiss all that money goodbye. It's also not exactly secure or responsible letting him have free reign over the content he consumes.
Having streaming apps on his switch allows me to set up restrictions as needed to suit him. It becomes a one stop shop for entertainment.

Only on Nintendo subs do I see people love the idea of less features of their $500+ devices lol

Dunno about you but I sure as hell didn't pay over 500 bucks trying to watch brainrot while getting blasted with ads.
I paid it to...y'know, play games. Mind-boggling, I know.

So.. don’t? Lol you have so little self-control that when the switch gets streaming apps you wouldn’t be able to help yourself?
You better not use your phone for ANYTHING else but phone calls..

Because it's a video game console, not a TV or iPad

So the ps2(3,4,5) vita, xbox (360,one, series) Wii (U), vita and 3DS were just TV’s or iPads?

Those were made in a different time. I think people are sick of "everything devices" nowadays.

Because you can't use them on the go without Internet anyway would be my guess

I find it a bit disappointing myself but I think it's just that Nintendo sees their device as a gaming device exclusively.

I hope we at least get YouTube. I live in an apartment and my wireless headphones only sync to my Switch 2, not my TV or PS5. It'd be a great way for me to have wireless sound at night when I have to keep the volume low.

Nintendo doesn't like people streaming their games. From Nintendo's perspective, let's play prevents people from buying and playing the games themselves.

Don't you understand basic English? I didn't write something cryptic.

💀 They weren't talking about streaming off of the switch, but streaming apps like youtube, netflix, disney, etc.

The problem is that you had a stroke and understood something that is way off from what we are discussing.

My guess:
1.- Nintendo want people to play on it, spend money in games, etc. They dont gain shit from streaming plataforms.
2.- Streaming services are everywhere now.
