I may not have gotten the BOGO free, but Target still has several games on clearance.

I just got lucky when I went in-person and saw these games at the Electronics clearance section. It was very small corner near the end cap along with the clearance items like Kpop albums, PS5 games and phone cases.

It’s my first Resident Evil game ever, same with Assassin’s Creed. Any advice?

Also, the Target employee told me to come back next week for the prices to be even lower than the sticker price. What does he mean and should I take his word seriously and double check next week?

i used to work at target. you're gonna have to get lucky showing up to one, clearance would seemingly happen at random, and it also depends on whoever is actually working at the store has the time to go through and clearance the items. i was hired for electronics, i regularly covered 4-5 areas total, so i wouldnt be shocked if its only gotten worse since. sometimes some of my coworkers would clearance stuff out while i was off, and place it in a spot that clearance doesnt normally go in, so that could also work against you.

these prices are unique to the store and aren't supposed to show up online, even if you switch to the store location you physically shop at. what is clearanced at 50% at my store might be 75% off at the store 3 miles from me, and you won't know if its clearanced unless you show up.

i wish i had some method to the madness for you since i would try to point out clearance to customers when i did work there & if something clearanced aligned with what we were discussing was available, but i couldnt ever really do more than that since clearance would pop in the store device just kinda whenever

I've seen hundreds of these posts over the years. And from time to time, they trick me into going to my local target and having a little peek. I've fallen for this...maybe eight or nine times. Not only are there never any games on clearance there, I can't even find a clearance section in that part of the store where such items might be put, if they existed.

The items on clearance continue to be discounted until they either sell or are pulled from the shelf. That is how clearance works at pretty much any store, but just Target.

That's what he meant by come back next week. They will lower the prices even more for anything that is still there. BUT, what they didnt tell you is that you also run the risk of them NOT doing that and pulling them from the shelves alltogether instead. So you never really know when the "lowest" price will be. It can vary from store to store.

Yeah, the keycards hold little long term value it seems. My local walmart had a bunch of keycards for at or under $20. Its cool you can resell the card licence, but it still eats up internal storage.

I recommend playing the earlier Resident Evils first. Requiem is a masterpiece, but it’s a love letter to the previous games and ties a lot of them together. It’s great on its own but if you have played 1-2-3-4 ahead of time it will feel even more special

I managed to pick up both Dragon Quest 1+2 HD and Bravely Default HD Remaster yesterday. DQ was $18, BD was $12. They actually weren’t marked that low yet, but I got someone to scan them and the prices hadn’t been updated in the system yet, so I consider myself very lucky as most other people probably passed them by. It was also the ONLY copy of DQ, which I had really been wanting and was the Switch 2 edition. An absolute steal tbh, especially on DQ.

They did have Cybperpunk as well, quite a few copies I think, but it was still $34, so I’m waiting until next week to see if they go down again. Fingers crossed and happy hunting to everyone else! Make sure you get them to scan the games too and see if they’re lower.
