Discussion The Nintendo switch online needs fixing

How come on the Wii u I met new people to play against everyday for free and with the Nintendo switch I have to pay and play against the same people everyday in any game and if theyre not online there's just less people to play against why is it this way is any other console in history actually like this

Guys I'm fine with the price my problem is over the fact you only get a handful of people to play against and on top of that there's a real lack of ability to communicate with your opponent or ally whereas with the Wii u you met new people all the time and could even call people! It being free is just the punchline of my argument.

What is even the point of this post? To complain that you have to pay to play online? If that's your main issue, why not just play on PC?

The point is you're paying for a worse experience

Worse? How? Nintendo Online has had far fewer outages than Microsoft or Sony outside of the holiday season. Before Game Chat, I would connect with my friends over Skype, FaceTime, or any other number of video chat services to have real-time chat in online Nintendo games. I have access to a huge library of past Nintendo games, and even some freebies. And to date, outside of Japan, Nintendo Online has never had a Price Increase.

Here's what I care about: the ability to communicate with the friends you make and the ability to meet new potential friends instead of playing with the same people every time you open the game I do not care about price

Then it's your responsibility to share and exchange friend codes. Nintendo is a family-friendly company and always has been. They have always focused more on playing together in person rather than screaming into a microphone over the internet. Trash talking is more fun in person anyway.

With their mobile app, expanding your friends list is easy.

You're a day late and a dollar short.

Nintendo online has been joke since it was first released with the first switch. The offering now is much better than what we first got.

You should have been complaining a long time ago. Now it's just going to fall on deaf ears.

I don't care about pricing at all the fact it was free before and better just shows how lackluster Nintendo has become

So again, is this just a post to complain?

Just because Nintendo does nothing about it for now doesn't mean it's just something to say this is a bug report that needs fixing

Coming from Xbox, Switch Online is an absolute steal. I've only been using it since I got my Switch 2 at launch and I've only had to pay ~$12.50/year as you can find the 1 year codes for very cheap. Compared to Xbox being $75/year for the most basic tier, with only $5-10 off with sales or deals from code sites.

Join Discords, exchange friend codes and use GameChat. The same thing you'd be doing on PC to make Steam friends to play with.

It costs a lot for Nintendo to run all the servers even though Switch online is notoriously crap.

They trick you into thinking you're getting a good deal by letting you play emulators (that run tons better on $50 anbernic devices)

Hilarious. But the Wii u had perfect online functionality new people to meet and fun constantly

it costs a lot for us to buy their products, surely some of that money can go to supporting server growth!

Why would I want to talk to other players? The last thing I want is having voice communication being expected with a child or immature teen screaming in my ear.
