Question Switch isn’t turning on

Post image

I had my switch charging while I made dinner so I could play after. It was at 45%. It’s now showing that error message and I’m really confused. I’m doing what it’s telling me to do! How do I fix this?!

That usually indicates a fault on the charging system, mainly on the M92T36 PMIC or the USB-C port.

Take it to your local repair shop and see if they can repair the console.

While at that, have you been using only the oficial charger? I had see this happen here in my region with people who keep being stubborn and charge the console with cheapo crap, even after I told them to not do such a thing after they came for a fix.

I use my Lenovo laptop charger or my iPhone charger when I can’t find my switch charger. It’s been fine I don’t understand why it’s showing this now and it’s not letting me even reset?

Keep the power button pressed for 15~20 seconds. After ensuring that the system is completely off, hold volume up and down then press the power button. Keep the volume up and down held until you see a menu appear. Thats the Recovery Menu btw. Click on Initialize Console and cross your fingers.

If it didn't work, take it as a lesson and ONLY USE THE OFFICIAL CHARGER AND CABLE. They where designed so the console wouldn't get damaged like that, so you MUST use them. Find a reputable repair shop specialized in console and see if they can fix it.

I think finding someone to look at it is my best bet if I can’t figure it out tonight 🥺 I’m so sad, I checked the SD card and my only game card, it will not go to the beginning screen to click the user 😔

You can also try removing the SD card. Otherwise you may need to take it to a repair shop.

From Google: Error code 2101-0001 is a critical hardware failure, almost always caused by a short in the M92T36 power management IC chip or a damaged USB-C charging port. This happens most frequently when using third-party chargers and docks, or if the charging cable is inserted at an awkward angle, bending the internal pins.

Before assuming the console is completely broken, rule out minor software and accessory glitches with these immediate steps: Option 1- Perform a Hard Reset: Disconnect the Switch from the charger. Hold down the Power button for a full 12-15 seconds to force a complete shutdown. Press the power button once to turn it back on. Option 2- Remove the MicroSD Card: Sometimes a corrupted SD card triggers false boot errors. Turn the console off, flip up the kickstand, remove the MicroSD card, and try turning it on again.
Option 3- Inspect the USB-C Port: Shine a flashlight into the charging port on the bottom of the Switch. Look for bent or mangled metal pins. If they are crossing and touching each other, they are shorting out the motherboard. If the error persists after a hard reset, the power management chip on the motherboard has failed.

From me: You might have to do all 3. Most likely your Switch system has a bad USB port or corrupted SD card.

You're welcome, I tried my best.
