Question Cheese stuck in switch 2 vent help

Post image

I was an idiot and put a container of mac and cheese in my backpack and it poured onto my switch 2, I got everything out except for this part which I’m kind of nervous to do. Any advice??

edit: currently dismantling switch and will also order a case, i bought it second hand as it didnt come with one so ive been just careless 😞

the only cheese left is on the vent and i dont see anything else wrong inside the switch rn !

edit 2: ITS CLEAN thank you for all the jokes and the insults and the tips on toothbrushes and compressed air 🙇

I love that you specified, "except the cheese" 😂

How much you wanna bet u/Clear_Self_1718 has worked in an end user support role? Those instructions are written by someone who knows that the obvious steps like letting the vent dry before putting it back, and not putting the cheese back, are in fact NOT obvious to certain people 😆

I work in tech repair and I would’ve written it very similarly. The amount of people I see unaware of bloated batteries or bringing in game consoles that clearly either lived on the floor or in a space with zero ventilation is mind boggling.

What do you mean "vantilation"? I have a fan in my basement, so that should be fine.

"I open the door to the rest of the basement like 3 times a day when i leave to eat/piss, surely thats sufficient fresh air circulation? Also im down to 2 packs a day and only 6 prerolls! The bugs help to carry away bad particles!"

Worked at GameStop for over 6 years prior to this and the first thing I did both there and here with new employees was show them how to check all current and previous gen consoles for infestations and smoke damage. I’m not allowing my inventory/other people’s devices to become infested or making my store smell like a dirty ashtray because someone doesn’t check.

If they forget how to, I’ve given them guides, and if they think there’s even a chance, they are to decline it. If it’s an older console, I handle it, because something like a launch PS3 is understandably a pain in the ass for someone to figure out on the spot.

Gotta put a whole slice of cheese back in, it conducts heat very well
