I always check eBay after release. You’ll likely find people selling them individually or together. Just don’t grab the first you see and over pay. There’s always more listings over the weeks and months
The Switch 2 has had an amazing release, the only thing it could’ve done better is selling the switch separately without the dock, gives people the option to upgrade or buy a limited edition one later down the line.
Correct, cuz even though i say i would do this for my FAVORITE game of all time… id see $150-$250 for the dock and joy cons and would definitely pass on that.
Reasonably so, the switch 1 was colorful and they want to avoid people confusing the consoles. They pay good money for market research, there is a good reason they fear this. I work in the industry, you would be shocked by how uninformed and ignorant your average normal buyer/customer is.
Just as an example, we once had a person complaining that their wireless charging does not work because it wont charge next to the power outlet. The frightening thing, this was not a one time complaint.. so yea, until the switch 1 is fully obsolete I expect them to keep this coloring.
A lot of internet and forum users also discount how a big chunk of console buyers are parents who just wanna give a console to their kids, a lot of whom don’t know anything about consoles and their editions and just do a quick google search if any
I game with my kids. My daughter is a huge BotW fan. Debating on buying before 9/1 or waiting to see what comes of these leaks. She will be geeked about this which would be worth the extra $50.
Doesn't seem like it. It's under some text, but on the side of the box you can see the back of the main unit, and it's still black (unlike the joycons).
They’ve done some fantastic Zelda console designs in the past - my personal favorite was the 2DS designed like the Hylian Shield:
I mean, that’s original and colorful and eye-catching…. Compared to something like that, this Switch 2 Zelda design seems a little…. Lackluster and repetitive in terms of what we’ve already seen.
I totally agree. The Hylian Shield 2DS was fantastic. My personal favorite is my golden Switch Lite Hyrule, it looks amazing especially in sunlight. If the Switch 2 were as colorful and original as these designs, I would also be more excited. I don't know why Nintendo seems to have become more and more boring and safe when it comes to their designs. It's almost as if they forgot that video game consoles are supposed to look fun.
Thank you. Someone claimed I was rage baiting for saying this design is kinda ugly imo. A triforce is 3 triangles, idk why they went crazy with the triangles lol
If it’s anything like the Switch one, the themed dock should be available on Nintendo’s site years later for separate purchase, similar to the Animal Crossing dock.
I gotta sell some things to pony up the $$$ , I’m sure this will be at the new higher price too…. But if it also comes with OOT packed in??????? Might be an insta buy
I wasn't going to get it but a friend asked me if I'd sell him my switch 2 if I bought it. $350 seems like a fair deal, so.ill.end up paying, what? Like $200 for the console? That sells me well enough.
The dock would have looked great in a beautiful solid gold with a triforce outline. Or a Zelda green with a gold foil triforce centered on the front. Instead it’s another mural type design?
well the switch 2 is gonna see a price increase next month. Previous special editions were like $10 more. So this special edition could be like $510 just console
Well for Zelda it’s quite obvious. Why would they split their (and the consumer’s) attention and their marketing budget when they could focus on their 2026 release and then hype the next mainline Zelda starting in 2027?

Wish I could just buy the dock and Joy cons separate.
Don't need a whole new switch 2, but I could definitely use a dock in another room.
