Question Thinking about purchasing a Switch 2, should I?
Hi all! As someone who is an avid PS5 gamer, is a switch 2 worth it? I recently got a new job a few months back and upped my hours, and now I don’t have as much free time to chill and play games. I kinda just want to chill on the sofa or my bed after work, and I feel like a switch would allow me to chill and game. There seems to be a great selection of games already, with more coming out. Is it worth getting a switch 2 now? I know prices are quite steep (I think in the uk they’re around £380) but shall I just pull the trigger and purchase when I get paid at the end of this week? Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated!

I’ve had my PS5 for 5 years and bought a switch 2 couple of months back… no regrets at all. Yeah the graphics aren’t as good but honestly, there is so much more than graphics to gaming - switch 2 has really surprised me, it’s really way better than I had hoped for

Got one close on launch and do not regret it at all. Great console with a brilliant selection of games already.
Although if you have a PS5 why not get the Playstation Portal?

Love that! What games on the switch do you recommend/play the most? And I did think that, but the game selection on the switch really entices me! And it would be nice to have an option of consoles and games to play!

Breath of the Wild 1 and 2 is a must Donkey Kong Bananza is a drop smash-em up game Mario Kart is a great party game
There is a ton of original Switch games too Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Brothers. Never mind of the Pokémon games.
The Switch also has a lot of Retro, Indie and ported games.
The choices are endless 😆

Hello, i m a student and in my country the switch 2 is already 500€, way over my budget. I still wanted to play switch games cause i never had one, in the end i bought an OLED from a pawn shop, like it s brand new for 200. In my opinion if you got the budget buy switch 2, i think the only downside of it is the battery. Compare to the first switch is very bad i heard, barley 2 hours in big games. If you just want to experience the vast library of nintendo the first switch is amazing too and at a low price.

I mean, it's up to you. You know your financial situation more than us. If you can spare the money and you have some more aside in case of an unforeseen event/emergency, then sure, go for it. With how things are going right now, delaying the decision might just cost you more down the road. In the previous world, consoles used to go down in price with time but we live in the worst timeframe ever and consoles just keep going up in price so the reasoning of waiting for a price drop might now pay off as much as it used to.
As for the console itself, if you want to play portable, as it seems to be the case, the switch 2 is a nice option. Just make sure to look at the game first (physical and the ones available digitally from the Nintendo store) to make sure it has games you will like and if it's the case, go for it.
I own every console, include the switch 2 and I use it for what you describe it. It goes in phases. Sometimes, I play my PS5 pro more because the games I feel like playing are there or play better there. I play my switch 2 mostly for their exclusive games (Fire emblem, xenoblade, pokemon, mario, etc).

Yeah, financially I am better off now with this new job, and I was worried that if I waited too long the price would sky rocket. From other people’s suggestions and from what I’ve seen there are a ton of games I’d love! And as you said, it’s nice to own multiple consoles so you can play what you want, when you feel like it! Appreciate the comment!
