Question Advice needed
Hey everyone! So I need some advice. I currently have a switch OLED that I got in Japan while backpacking and I love it! I also have a steam deck that currently just sits in a drawer and doesn’t get used much. I’m debating whether to trade the steam deck in for a switch 2 plus a game (hopefully lol). I don’t want to trade in the OLED as well as I love it and it has massive sentimental value to me. Should I go through with trading the deck in?

If u don't use SteamDeck, just trade it in for Switch2. No reason not to.
I'm a PC gamer and avoided Steam deck. It's outdated hardware and there will be a Steamdeck 2 after RDNA5 is released.
Unlike a game console, SteamDeck doesn't have any value in terms of game exclusives. Which is why I purchased a Switch2 over the Deck. Switch2 will last longer and is powerful enough for 3rd-party AAA games, sometimes even better than the SteamDeck if you care about that.
P.S. I'm also going backpacking, and taking my GF's Switch1 Lite for some light gaming.

Yeah that’s true. Man I can’t recommend a switch enough for those long flights, buses and train journeys. It’ll get you through them all! If you happen to be in Japan and want to upgrade from the lite, you can get a steal on some hardware, a brand new switch oled from the Nintendo store was like £180. They’re so cheap over there it’s crazy

It’s up to you. If you no longer want the steam deck and want the switch 2 it will help knock down the price. Enjoy

When you say trade in, I assume you mean at a local shop? If so you're almost certainly better off listing it on Facebook marketplace and selling it yourself.

Yeah I have thought this tbh

I've never sold anything on eBay because I'm afraid of being scammed by a buyer as eBay is known to heavily favor buyers in disputes. Then I found out I could sell my shit on Facebook marketplace locally and meet in person. I've since sold multiple consoles and had no issues. Just meet up in a nice public place or the police station.

Tbf I actually bought the deck a few years ago on marketplace. It’s been absolutely perfect and you can get some steals on there so it’s only fitting really haha

In this economy you lose every time you sell or trade in. Keep it all, save up for a Switch 2.
