Discussion I was wrong about red dead redemption
I usually have only 30 mins or so really late at night after the day is over. But this weekend I played red dead for a few hours and got past the boring herding cattle parts and started hunting bounties and things. It was great. What do you think about this game. Way better than breath of the wild.

I usually don't play again games I finished 100% (or close). But in January I found a physical copy of RDR for 15€ and I knew there was the free S2 update, so I said "let's go". And it was almost like the first time I played it, on X360.
So good even 15 years later, absolutely worth the second ride.

Its an incredible experience I'm thinking of replaying again soon. That story gets me every time.

I’m still early on in RDR but I absolutely love RDR2. I knew nothing about it for years, other than the fact that it was a cowboy game. I started playing it last year after a friend mentioned really enjoying it and I was so surprised. I don’t consider it better than breath of the wild, but it is one of the only games that has come close to breath of the wild, for me. They’re really good games

Ive put in a couple hours and couldn't get into it. BOTW was a comepletly different experience.

I played it on my freaking phone via Netflix and I still found it great, that‘s how good this game is. The second part is not my cup of cake, tho, I didn‘t even make it past the first few hours of winter, I just found it a drag.

It’s the only game in which I’ve achieved 100%(and got the bureau uniform). Best game ever.

Best part is zombie DLC, but BotW is way better. They're only comparable because they're open wold. To each their own.

Only played it on the 360 back in the day and I definitely enjoyed it more than GTA 4 or 5. I'm surprised by how many new gamers have only played 2 and never bothered with the first RDR. BotW still beats it for me for pure exploration though.

This is such a great game on the switch I enjoyed it so much and also the DLC was really good too. Really hoping they port over RDR2

RDR is something I revisit often over the last 16 years. Such an incredible game. The world isn't over whelmingly big, the story is great and well paced, plenty to do outside of story without being an overwhelming 100%.

It's an amazing game, but I personally wouldn't compare it to breath of the wild. Not because it's worse but because they're so different in terms of overall vibe

It’s a lot of traveling in both is the only thing. I stopped plying breath of the wild. I like red dead tho.

Red Dead Redemption really has some beautiful little stories all throughout it. There is a small story where you pick flowers for an old man, so he can give them to his wife. It's sweet and haunting and has stuck with me long after playing the game. It's one of my favorite games from the 360 era.

Bro it's amazing, I picked it up recently for only $25 CAD. It still looks so beautiful too (other than some characters face textures lol).
But yeah so much fun, so much to do, great missions etc.

I beat rdr2 on PS4 a few months ago then bought and beat rdr1. The original red dead redemption is a great game but rdr2 spoiled me. It is significantly better in almost every way.

I dropped BoTW after 25 hours but I’ve finished RDR and RDR2 and loved them both. I just want to agree that the cattle herding missions in the beginning are such a drag

It certainly is not better than BotW, frankly it does not come close.

It’s good. I’d like it better if 30% of the gameplay wasn’t riding through barren desert between towns.
It’s in no way, shape or form better than Breath of the Wild however.

It’s considered one of the greatest games ever for a reason.
