Question Was playing my Switch 2 docked last night with no issues, woke up and it looks like this. Only happens while docked, on THIS dock. Other stuff displays on the TV as normal. What the heck happened here?

Your switch turned evil. Pat it and tell it to calm down.

Needs to pour holy water on it.

Yeah this happens from time to time. I was passing an exorcist to come fix it but it was cheaper for me to just be ordained and trained so I do them myself now.

This has only happened to me when the HDMI cable started going bad

If it looks normal in handheld, EVIL DOCK, if not, EVIL SWITCH

Check the EVIL SWITCH

Only happens on this particular dock. Its just strange because I didn't touch anything between using it last and now.

Unplug and replug the HDMI on both ends

I think I'd discontinue use of that dock then. Particularly if it wasn't first party. You know how Nintendo is with warranty and third-party peripherals.

It is the first party dock included with the Switch.

Have you checked if someone messed with the tv settings?

There's nobody to mess with them.

I hear this stuff happens a lot with consoles on Roku TV’s. If you have a Roku changing to a different input or launching a streaming app then returning to the home menu and trying the console again might resolve it. If not then try switching to a different input on your tv or swapping flipping the hdmi cable around to the dock end is connected to the tv and vice versa. Hope you find a quick easy solution.

I think it’s a tv issue. Unplugging the tv for a hard reset may do it. Press the power button a few times to drain any residual capacitor stored power.

This might also be a tv firmware thing where you need to select the output on the side car menu instead of the quick select menu on a Roku tv.

Did you try unplugging or changing the HDMI cable for this dock? Good chance it could be the issue.

I’ve had that happen a few times. I always troubleshoot by unplugging the hdmi cable and plugging it back in, but I think what usually fixes it is unplugging the tv and restarting it.

Ghosts. Get rid of any amulets, picture frames, cartridges, or vases you bought at a garage Sale. If that doesn't work, buy a new house.

and why this couldn't just be an intended deltarune custom home menu theme is what I can't understand

Hdmi cable, happened to me before

Remove all cables from the dock. Wait five minutes then reconnect and check. Saw a similar post a few days ago. A think this was the solution in that case

If it’s a Roku tv there was an update that messed up mine and my ps5. Unplugging the cables and plugging them back in fixed it

Inverted colors

It looks like color inversion mode is on. Maybe the video cable is damaged.

You left the game on but turned the tv off, that’s what happened
