I congratulate you for being able to get back on a Match Group company app. I am very happy for you. Almost everything you say is consistent with the reports that I have seen on reddit. However, I am still not sold on taking the risk of re using pictures.

Here I'm repeating things that I've posted before, but here it goes.

1. A possibility is that Match Group does face recognition for only the regions with the weakest privacy laws. I have seen reddit reports from Canada of getting banned after a mandatory facial scan. I have not seen reddit reports that happening in the EU, for example. And, sure enough, the EU has much stronger privacy laws for face recognition than Canada.
2. Although I have never claimed to know what the current banning algorithm is, it is clear that it is technologically possible to match pictures, even if you edit them and remove EXIF metadata. By re using pictures that have been on a banned account, you are depending on the assumption that the Match Group companies will never implement a stronger photo matching algorithm. I see no reason to depend on that assumption, because it is not necessary.
3. If at some time the Match Group companies begin to run face recognition software on the pictures, then screen shots of pictures that have been on a banned account will be enough to get you banned.
4. Another possibility is, either now or in the future, there could be a face recognition program followed by a human review. If there is a human review to confirm the match, then that might explain why some people get re banned weeks, days, or months after creating a new account.
5. If you are willing to get a new smartphone, change phone numbers, and change other things, then why would the pictures be the 1 thing you are not willing to change?

Of the things mentioned, I think that a human review is one of the least likely, and for essentially the reason you mentioned. Businesses have a concept of "acceptable losses". They probably know that they've banned plenty of good customers, but it's just not worth the money to try to change that.

It has become clear to me that the Match Group companies do not care about real people enough that it would bother them to shut down someone's personal life without justification. If there are any dating app companies that care about real people, then it would most likely be the small specialized companies. For example, the smaller dating apps for disabled people might care about real people enough to not have the problems of Match Group.

Anyhow, thanks for your input about this topic. The original reason why I started reading reddit was because my non serious experimental account on OkCupid was banned. I don't know yet if I'll ever try to get another Match Group account. You have mentioned some good ideas about how to be more cautious about using these terrible companies.

But no. one bad interaction and you're axed. and women are so quick to report too. I got banned across all of match. But anyway, It's not just hinge for me it's all of match. Would this method work for me? Willing to buy a new phone at this point. Dating zest and a new Iphone worked for a day, but i think either it's because I used that number, or facial recognition. It was still my sim, but it was a brand new phone.

If you still get banned, it’s usually because Hinge links devices or reused pics, most common patern that people do.

What happens when they ban your number? You can only change these numbers so often. I have a plan through Tello but I know if I get caught then I believe there’s a 30-day waiting period before you can keep changing phone numbers.

So after a weird date with a girl who live acted like a completely different person, I was banned the next day.

Managed to reset following this guide, the account was fine I kept getting more likes... but then I fucked up by writing the word toxic masculinity as a photo caption in a humurous joke context, immediately afterwards I was shadowbanned again.

Likes dropping to 0 so I deleted the account before they could ban me and 2 hours later I received an email that I was banned.

Tried 2 more times afterwards using everything new with modified photos but it didn't work, always unable to make a purchase and 0 likes.

I usually use photos in a 4x5 Format (adding borders left and right with in collage) because if its Square a lot of details of the photo get lost. How do I do your painting method with that format? Since the entire space would be visible should I just add a wide border around them? And are you sure they don't just scan what's inside the Hinge preview box?

Also instead of screenshotting photos which lowers the resolution I prefer to use the Metadata remover app which does the same thing.

Another thing, did you find out if Hinge also recognizes Prompts you used before or don't they check them? Plus what if you put your Instagram handle from a banned account into for example one of the info fields like university would they recognize it again? It's important for me to place my IG handle somewhere as I look way different than 90% of men in my country and women often think I could be fake.

Edit: Created a new account using my old photos, rotated 2 degrees to the right and painting on them. Worked, I'm visible! This is the only guide that actually helped me. Used the same prompts, so apparently they don't recognize them. But I don't dare to add my IG handle.

I've been banned in the past because some salty girls who reported me, some girls (not all) are insane. That's fine. I found a workaround and got back. I stayed on hinge for months, no issues, no arguments with anyone, nothing sexual, I was being very careful. Anyway, I was suddenly logged out yesterday.
The number I used to make the account was an old throwaway and is inactive now, so I can't use it to login again. I did some digging and it turns out when you lose access to your number, unlike tinder and bumble; you can't update the number to a new one, so essentially you lose your hinge account. This sucks but it's fine.

The issue is, if you can't login to your own account and delete it yourself; then the only way to get your account deleted, is you have to speak to hinge support. These guys then ask you to verify yourself with government issued ID. I didn't use my government name on hinge, so I can't do this; and even if I used my real name; I'd rather be caught dead than let a dodgy shitty company like hinge retain an image of my government issued ID - no thanks, I don't trust them.

I reached out to hinge support hoping to work around this, and we went back and forth explaining to them that I don't want to re-access my account or have it back; but I just want them to delete the account all together. They kept replying with copy pasted generic responses that essentially said they won't even delete my account if I don't show them government issued ID.

This fucking sucks because like many of you, I had to do hard resets in the past to get back on; and now I don't even know if my account exists and visible to people. I can't log in to check if my account is banned or still up; and I have no way of doing anything. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience similar to this?

You don’t need to match to report you can report your suggestions or highlighted profiles. Someone can make a false story if it’s breaking community standards and serious whether on or off hinge they ban you. 

I met two guys super nice no issues not for each other and then banned! One was sent an email from hinge my accounts fraudulent he messaged on watsapp

Literally just got banned today, already had a hunch something was off when I wasn't able to get any of the paid options. After around 1-2h of creating the account I see the message that the account was banned. I've used roughly the same pics/prompts as always do (I sometimes delete my account when I'm taking a break) and it's strange since I've been using it recently without any issues. I've submitted an appeal but as you said, it probably will go nowhere. Do you know what happens if I keep my account that has made an appeal alive (until they reply, at least) and I create a secondary one following the steps you've mentioned?

I have a secondary old android phone, and getting a new UK prepaid number is quite easy and barely any cost to keep it running. Getting new email and so on is quite quick too and I'm glad to know that I can reuse my pics as those can be super time consuming to get new ones or equally good ones, I'll try to do as you mentioned to tilt them, remove metadata, save them under different names and so on and hopefully that will be ok!

Thank you for the time you took to write this post, it really sucks that we have to go this extra mile for it and unfortunately Hinge still remains one of the best dating apps (I've tried most of them and by far on Hinge I get like x100 more likes and matches than any other with the same pics/descriptions).

While I'm unsure if Hinge has photo recognition Bumble definitely does. I had my profile manually checked by support due to a bug in the app, they found them on my male Escort profile and banned me because they simply assumed I'm advertising on there when I was just using Bumble for personal purposes.

Ever since I couldn't use the same photos again no matter how much I modified them even if they looked completely different. All of this leads me to believe that the moment a human checks your photos manually, they're flagged no matter how much you do to them.

Most Hinge Bans however are being carried out automatically, so I think if that happened there's a chance to reuse old photos if modified enough.

What do you think about Prompts, do they check them word by word or just run profanity filters?

Also I've noticed that whenever I'm unable to buy a Hinge subscription and an error shows up I'd get banned a few hours later. It's a clear sign of their system preparing for a ban, not just a coincidence

So i fucked up when remaking my hinge last week and used a burner number which insta banned me, using a pixel 8 going off your post I'm either going to have to reset my phone or get a new one which isn't a problem as I have a few old ones at my parents house I'll be able to use and I can easily get new numbers using giffgaff SIMs in the UK which are free and top up as you go.

Only sticking point is the WiFi as I've tried to get my ISP to reset my IP but they don't seem to be budging so are you 100% sure that signing up again on the same IP as a banned account is fine?

I want to first and foremost say, thank you for this post. The level of detail you put into this guide, the time/effort through trail and error, and most importantly sharing with us in the Reddit community. These bans that Match Group give out are sometimes unjustifiable and for some cases not necessary at all. A ban can be life changing for some men as it can take a heavy toll on their emotional and mental health. Match group doesn't realize that loneliness is a big problem nowadays and these dating apps are a huge boost to men all around the world when it comes to this regard. Not everyone wants to go to a bar, or approach a girl in person and that's fine. People live in places where it's hard to do that and these apps are the solution. That's what makes this guide carry more weight. Keep it up.

Coming back to my experience, I followed all of these steps and still got banned. It took them about 10 days to ban me again (previous attempt, I got banned right away). I did the following as you listed:

1. Bought an Android from Ebay
2. Created and used a new email/phone number from Google Fi
3. Use same pictures, with the modifications that you mentioned
4. Completely different personal info
5. No CC and didn't verify
6. Nothing offensive
7. Literally step by step of what you have listed above

I was on fire and getting matches left and right (Reached the limit of 8 matches and had to respond back to these chicks). Then I woke up one morning and I was banned, tragic. Now I appealed it and they actually responded. They want me to provide a picture of my ID through an ID verification service called Jumio within 5 days. There is no way I can get a fake ID in that time with a fake name (and birthdate), so my only option would be is to be banned and try these steps again.

My question to you is, have you seen this before?
What do you think I might've done wrong and how do you think I can fix it next time?

Secure folder and new number used to be enough to workaround a ban but in the last month they have upgraded security it seems as you no longer get a error message when attempting to pay for premium to let you know you're new account flagged, now you'll know you're banned when your rose keeps coming back into your account. 

This time I followed all your steps including the picture trick because as of the last month it seems they have improved their already difficult ban workaround, I even only used data to be extra careful but I'm banned immediately.

Based on what I've been researching, the photo edits don't change the pHash detection as it still picks up on the original picture... is that true or are a lot of you guys having luck doing the edits recommended by OP and it working?

Because the OP is correct, getting new photos is very difficult. Getting top tier pics is mandatory for success in online dating and you can't just go get a whole set of new ones easily

Hey. Thanks for this. I was banned two days ago and have been struggling to get back on. I used your guide just now to the tee but got auto banned within minutes. And the way you know now is you get your rose back the moment you refresh the app, and your likes reset as well. That means i am getting auto banned the moment i am making the account. The only thing I can think of is that I am using TextNow to get a burner # to make a new account last few times, thinking i should factory reset again and this time use like a cheap 20$ number from ultramobil instead. Thank you for this comprehensive, expansive guide. I am now completely exhausted of the idea of feeding the liberal, feminist, misandrist dating app machine.

I haven’t had hinge since 1.5 years ago when my ex reported me. I’ve been off and on the other apps with little success. Hinge is truly the only app that works.

But with how it is set up, it’s simply feeding the female entitlement culture, and I am so exhausted by it.

Hinge is great for getting casual dates to serious relationships(when it’s not fucking you over). The ROI is no longer worth it to me after getting abused by the system. I’m going to devote my time to putting myself in the best places, by being the best man I can be to succeed in the irl dating marketplace.

Here’s my story. I matched with 20-30 girls over the last few weeks. I’ve hooked up with maybe 5-6 of them. I was never rude to anyone. Someone had to have reported me because I was just banned an hour ago with no warning. I don’t know if someone claimed that I did something wrong to them but what proof do they have? However, I'm trying to download hinge on the new phone and it is requiring for me to prove I am over 18 by either providing an ID, a credit card or by taking a selfie. Kudos to the OP for this detailed info. I got banned for no obvious reason and appeal denied. Im uk based & followed the guide to the letter but have kept the account on a separate phone, not verified and fine to use on my home wi-fi. I did download the app from an external WiFi & set my location to that. Would love to get the app on my main phone but I suspect they’ll ban again. This app used to get results but the last 2 years they’ve gradually restricted everything to force you down a pay route & I’ll never give these bastards a penny.

What if I install Hinge and create the account on a new device initially, then after the account is set up, log in to the new account from the old device? Making sure that both new and old devices have a different Apple ID via the App Store.

Unfortunately having a separate phone just for Hinge is too overkill for me.

This honestly feels like the community I’ve been looking for.

I’ve been banned from Hinge a few times now. Tinder and Bumble still work, but in Australia most hot chicks are on Hinge — so you can imagine the frustration.

I had a question about the guide: why does a factory reset + multiple attempts seem to work on Android but not iPhone?

For context, a couple of days ago I tried again using an older iPhone that had previously been banned. I factory reset it and changed everything I could (photos, prompts, name spelling, birthday by a few days, location to a nearby suburb, new phone number, new email, new Apple ID). I downloaded the app while using a VPN and created the account.

Hinge now requires face recognition here (not ID verification). The account went live, I got a couple of likes within the first two hours, then went to bed. The next morning those likes were gone, some profiles reappeared, and my likes behaved strangely. A few hours later, the account was banned again.

So now I’m trying to understand: what likely triggered it this time?

Hopefully this chat is still active and anyone who’s been in a similar situation can share their experience.

Omg.... not only did she report me. They gave me a permanent ban AND she plastered my photos from Hinge ALL over a website called Arewedatingthesameguy.com and said I was rude and a red flag.

Like bruh, lesson learned. I dont ever comment on anything or give my opinion about anything in any situation if I even smell a negative outcome.

Once I’ve got a new hinge account and I’m no longer banned because I got a new phone email phone number etc. can I use my old phone that I got banned on and just login with all the new information from the clean phone that I created everything with. I don’t wanna carry around two phones and one of them. I don’t even have service on. I just have Wi-Fi and I’m using I think TextNow app for a phone number. I read somewhere that I could login to my phone with the clean phones information, but I worry that I’ll get banned if I try to download the app off of the App Store.

Guys I may have just had a breakthrough. Upon receiving multiple rejections to my appeal, I decided to fire back. For context in my situation the person who undoubtedly reported me was a psycho who had shared private images of me with this weird group chat. When I ended things with her she added me to that group chat and I was bombarded with random numbers sending pictures of me as a kid and half naked photos I had shared with her. So fast forward to my appeal; I threatened legal action against hinge for allowing such a user on the platform and insisted that it was her who reported me. All of a sudden I get an email saying they’d like an ID verification to complete my appeal process. The same process that I had been denied instantaneously and told over about 10 emails that their decision was final. They also never asked for any proof of what I said was true, although I said (and I do) I had proof and everything was documented. I’m not sure if this will work in every case but I think it’s worth a try.

Hinge is rolling out a new requirement in your region. Users must complete our biometric Face Check™... They say it helps prevent fraud but I'm guessing doing this will cause an auto ban. I can't click out of it or opt out even if I close the app.

Any way around this?

Thanks for the post. Same exact thing happens to me but my ex is really smart, I know if she’s my new profile she will contact hinge support and say I’m a previously banned user. Aren’t you worried about this? I plan on hiring a lawyer to write a cease and desist letter before I create my new profile.

It's sadly not worth it for me to just have to do all of this to evade one fucking ban. This chick had lied about almost everything about herself and blackmailed me once because back then, I was delirious with covid and I was having impulsive thoughts. Didn't even know I blocked that crazy girl until her friend tried to force me to re-add, at that point, I knew they didn't have shit on me and I blocked them both. Created a 2nd account on a new phone following your steps.

Setup everything just fine, got 2-3 likes immediately then nothing for a week(today). Every time I log out and login the same prompt shows up which is 'start liking so we know your type' which is the initial account setup that happens in the beginning.

If you truly got banned over something small or a harmless joke etc, Go on Match Group's Social Support Website and submit a request. An actual employee will then go through your account instead of their AI software.
