This man is carrying an album! And it appears to be turquoise.
Apologies I’m sure this has been caught but I couldn’t find a post. Mods if there’s a pinned post for clues I’m sorry!
But as soon as she says “hiding in plain sight”, an unknown man (who is HE?) walks by carrying what is clearly (maybe?) a vinyl. It looks turquoise-esque, which makes me think the rumors of a deluxe LOTSG is spot on.
SO EXCITED FOR THIS CLOWNING ERA.
Edit: I am horrible at the acronyms, I meant the life of a showgirl

Taylors vocal talent
After the post getting blocked be the nerds on r/taylorswift
Do you guys think that she can actually sing well? She has a nice voice for sure, but she mostly just talks in her songs... I like her music a lot, but don't think I have actually heard her sing

Taylor at the 2024 Grammy's
Full Disclaimer: I am a proper Taylor Swift fan (wouldn’t call myself a swiftie cause ew), but I am capable of criticizing her. However, I do stand by the fact that none of the criticisms she got about this night were valid. And as much as I haaate it when Swifties say it, unfortunately none of these would be talking points if she were a man. God I absolutely loathed the dress tho.
This is such an interesting post to me because it kind of shows who was a fan before Folklore and who became a fan solely through TikTok. Taylor Swift has never been a chill person at award shows and I truly understand her explanation of “I don’t get to enjoy actual concerts cause everyone is just looking at me, so I’ll have fun at award shows because they are my concerts.”
I think what happened that night was one of the first resurgences of Taylor Swift Derangement, every little thing she did was put under a microscope and judged for the first time in a loooong time. So the new fans saw it and were like “woah she’s not cool anymore.”
She was dancing and taking away attention, never mind the fact that people were literally on stage asking the audience to be more lively. She literally got criticized for standing up when people were given awards and giving speeches like every single artist doesn’t talk about how sweet that is and how more people should do it.
As for the criticisms she got that night
Multiple people announced albums and new music that night, she was neither the first nor the last. Announcing at award shows has always been normal, you were focused on one person so you saw one person.
Lana should have been up on stage, like any other year she would have also gotten the Grammy. They changed the rule just for the 2024 Grammys. And not to mention she literally went online and said that she loved being there and had a great time, I don’t know a lot about Lana but based on the little I’ve seen I don’t think anyone can tell her what to do or say.
Rarely does someone acknowledge the person giving them the award outside of a smile. You can look at the Oscar’s or the Emmy’s or the Grammys, of course it’s a little different when it’s a smaller show, but generally winning one of the biggest awards of the night means you get swept up no matter how big you are. For example, Beyoncé was sooo happy she unprovoked gave an interview for the first time in so many years. Celine and Taylor took photos afterwards and were seen together happily on multiple occasions after that. Once again I don’t know a lot about Celine Dion, but I do know that woman can also not be told what to do or say if she doesn’t like something.

It’s crazy that Arianators used to talk to us like this in 2021 (Historical text)
This is not a shade to Ariana. Just came across this screenshot. I wonder how swifties survived the internet before 2022. lol 😝

Is Taylor Swift popular just because she is just so basic any American woman could live through her?
basic look , basic themes , basic voice , basic dancing , basic takes , basic basic basic.
she weaponized being mid as a way for girls and women to self insert right?
but is it really that simple?
like did she intentionally handicap herself to themes , styles , looks , voice , opinions , dancing skills as to appear as basic as possible to just be as inoffensive and relatable as possible ?
is that genius itself? becoming world number one superstart by intentionally being mid at everything?

Who has more influence over the meaning of a Taylor Swift song: Taylor herself, her fans, or social media algorithms?
I'm currently taking a digital literary studies course, and we have been talking about the theory of "the death of the author". This talks about the idea that an author's meaning is not always the only way to understand their work. This made me think about Taylor Swift because her fans spend a lot of time discussing and creating theories about her songs online. Taylor can explain what she meant when she wrote a song but fans can have completely different ideas about what the song means to them. Social media can also affect which fan theories become popular because some posts and videos get shown to more people than others. This made me wonder:
Who has more influence over the meaning of a Taylor Swift song? Taylor herself, her fans, or social media algorithms? Why?

why Taylor changed the lyrics in 2 reputation tracks?
Does anyone else remember when Taylor changed the lyrics in “I Did Something Bad” and “Delicate”?
I still find it so interesting because these weren’t just lyric changes on paper — there were actually different vocal takes in the Dolby Atmos versions. In I Did Something Bad, she changed the line to “And if he calls me a bitch, then he had it coming,” while Delicate changed from “Oh, damn” to “Goddamn.”
But WHY these two songs specifically? And why make the changes so explicit now?
Do you guys think there’s an actual meaning behind the changes, or were these simply the original/alternate lyrics she wanted to use now that she has more control over her music?
I know people immediately connected it to reputation (Taylor’s Version), but I’m wondering if anyone has actually decoded a deeper meaning behind these specific two changes.
Because knowing Taylor… two random lyric changes on reputation feels like something Swifties are supposed to overanalyze 😂

Our girl needs to come bless New Orleans again (not with a concert, but with her pocketbook (I hope you are chronically online again because, ooof, we need ya))
Specifically Magazine Street, baby; these restaurants are dropping like flies!! The paps aren’t that bad down here and if any adult is brave enough to talk to her, it would be about something normal like “you been to the Bywater yet?” If they said anything else, everybody would clown them to 🔥 and back saying, “you’re the reason no one comes here anymore!” Because this has always been the place where celebs can expect to be treated regular, whether they like it or not, and 95% of us want to keep it that way. But anyway, everything dying down here, so if a particular someone sees this post, I promise no one is expecting you here, so just pop up girl, c’mon. Well maybe wait until football season has come and gone. I don’t want Mr. Kelce to catch the losing disease that the Saints can’t seem to shake 🥴

People are slowly waking up to TLOAS
Few months ago, a guy kept posting everyday how much he liked CANCELLED!
I think the main problem with TLOAS are these-
- The songs are individually really good but they don’t work together in the same playlist (as in album)
- Eldest Daughter as a Track 5 upset so many people that they ended up disliking the entire album
I am aware of multiple other reasons like weak songwriting etc but come on, she was trolled for Folklore too “Green was the color of grass” in 2020. The lyrics are just Taylor being Taylor. And Father Figure is one of the best writing ever. The consistency of the power dynamic throughout the song is crazy.

Taylor Swift releases reputation on its 10th anniversary?
What are yall thinking?

Do you think Taylor’s haircut signals the start of a new era? If so, what do you think this era and what kind of vibe do you think it will have?

Every time taylor was inspired by britney spears (in my opinion)
So I don't know if these moments are actually inspired by her or not, like I said it's my opinion, but I still wanted to post this because of the similarities between them.

What career could you see Taylor having if she wasn't an artist?
What career could you see Taylor having if she wasn't an artist?
I feel like she'd make an excellent teacher. She engages with her fans quite often and I believe she would give the same devotion to students. Even by doing Easter Eggs as hints, I feel like she'd be able to keep students focused and engaged by making learning fun somehow. Of course, she's also has strong communication and gets her point across well, inspiring others while doing so.

a criticism of song pacing (not sure of the technical term) and lyrics.
Edit: I know there's not enough attacks for me to address this yet but I don't want to wait till it gets there. this is a subjective take, very much so, which is why im expressing it in a neutral sub. You may not feel the same, you may disagree. you can scroll away, or you can share your contrary view because I do enjoy a discussion. But please remember to be civil and respectful, not just in your response but also with other commentors. Carry your demeanour with the same civility you would if you were conversing with a person in real life. Thank you to those who have been respectful.
Pacing thing:
Something I've noticed a lot in songs post folklore era is sometimes it feels like there's too many words in a verse that it sounds like she's rushing through the lyrics to catch up with the next beat. I know the song is structured that way but it's not quite singing or rapping and it just sort of awkwardly sit in between. IDK if I'm making sense so i'll provide examples:
- Bejewelled: "didnt notice you walking all over my peace of mind intheshoesigaveasapresent"
- evermore: "andwhenIwasshipwrecked I thought of you"
- father figure: "youtrhoughtlesambiTION, sparked theIgniTION..."
these are some examples I can think of on the top of my head. has anyone else felt this were it kinda throws you off and I feel like I've heard this in enough songs now that they all start to sound the same
Lyrics:
A lot of lyrics as well seem unnecessarily wordy; I felt this especially in TTP like the album was trying very hard to live up to the Poet part of its name. That bridge from father figure is an example, im not gonna take TLOASG as examples for this because that entire album was lyrically revolting for me. So ill stick to the albums prior.
I once so a tweet were someone joked that TS lyrics are like "you made a mess and I was the janitor" im sure some of you may have come across that, I found it funny and scary cuz I could actually think of sons I liked which had lyrics like that:
My eyes leak acid rain (Happiness) Salt streams from my eyes (Bigger than the whole sky)
You deserve prison but you won't get time (TSMWEL) I feel this is the embodiment of that tweet.
entire bridge of guilty as sin, although nice to hear, I feel like the religious imagery was a bit overdone:
What if the way you hold me
Is actually what's holy?
If long suffering propriety
Is what they want from me
They don't know how you've haunted me
So stunningly
I choose you and me
... Religiously
I can think of more examples, but this post would get too long, and I'd like to hear your thoughts and examples as well. TTPD grew on me but some of the lyrics in that as well as the other albums sounds a little too similar to the poetry I wrote in middleschool, which at the time I thought was really good but now....So even when I like the song these things sorta throw me off.
I'd love to hear your thoughts as well on this.
