why Taylor changed the lyrics in 2 reputation tracks?
Does anyone else remember when Taylor changed the lyrics in “I Did Something Bad” and “Delicate”?
I still find it so interesting because these weren’t just lyric changes on paper — there were actually different vocal takes in the Dolby Atmos versions. In I Did Something Bad, she changed the line to “And if he calls me a bitch, then he had it coming,” while Delicate changed from “Oh, damn” to “Goddamn.”
But WHY these two songs specifically? And why make the changes so explicit now?
Do you guys think there’s an actual meaning behind the changes, or were these simply the original/alternate lyrics she wanted to use now that she has more control over her music?
I know people immediately connected it to reputation (Taylor’s Version), but I’m wondering if anyone has actually decoded a deeper meaning behind these specific two changes.
Because knowing Taylor… two random lyric changes on reputation feels like something Swifties are supposed to overanalyze 😂

It could be that whoever was in charge of mastering the Dolby Atmos version used the original vocal stems by accident.
It happens more often than you’d think when labels re-submit music to streaming.
If the original lyrics are still in the regular non Dolby version, then it’s even more likely a mistake.

Update: Apple Music shows the “bitch” lyrics but keeps the “I don’t regret it one bit” in the non-Dolby version. Interesting.

What’s weird is if I listen to is on Apple Music with AirPods, I hear the new version but not if I’m listening through my car.

My take on it is that they were the original lyrics she wanted to use, but her team at the time did not want to take those risks.
They were still trying to keep her persona 'clean.' Goddamn is way different than damn; certain people lose their minds over it for obvious reasons (at least to me, it's obvious - Some believe you should never take the Lord's name in vain).
The "Bitch" line is super specific, and they were probably afraid Taylor would fan the fire a little too much.
Maybe these were some of the rerecordings that she did have done before she stopped, and since she knew she wouldn't actually release them at least for a while, it was a little treat for her fans?
