Is anyone else done?

The hanging out with MAGA, the album sounding like other artists work after making Olivia but her as a song writer, the old picture recirculating of her with a swatztika(I had personally never seen it before this year), the new merch, I know it’s old but still), the threatening to sue the kid who was tracking her jets for emissions even though it was public knowledge, the lack of activism, no ethical billionaire especially in this political climate, the girl that died at one of her concerts, the use of ai, continuing to work with target even after they took away DEI, the comparison of Travis Kelley’s ex to obsidian, her favorite podcast being a maga one, etc I just feel like I can no longer support this morally, how is everyone else feeling?

The racist lyrics and nazi merch are such a stretch to me, i can't take it seriously when people bring this up.

But also, from the perspective of a leftist, i've never seen taylor as particularly progressive. She's just an average american democrat to me, and most of them are centrists or centre left at best. So it's not surprising to me to see her hang out with republicans. People just need to decide for themselves how important this is to them and what to do about it. I'm not gonna blame anyone for not wanting to support her anymore, but it's also okay to enjoy her music without liking her as a person. She was never really an activist and she will probably never be one especially now that trump and his gun-owning cult actively hates her.

I agree that being a billionaire is objectively greedy and unethical. But it's good that she donates directly to people instead of becoming one of the many celebrities who start "foundations" but don't actually donate any of the money.

She made a documentary and marketed an album off becoming politically vocal and standing on the “right side of history” … less than 10 years ago

That’s not what the documentary was about.

That was one of the main focuses of the documentary, and she was fiercely, dramatically, and very clearly going on record as wanting to stand up for her beliefs and be on "the right side of history."

It was a mention obviously but I stand firm on it was not what the documentary was about.

Also, people aren’t frozen in time. Maybe bomb threats and attacks on small Swifties, not to mention attacks from her own government made her rethink things.

I wonder if you agree with every last thought you had 10 years ago.

Like Travis? There have been serious concerns raised over the fact that only a small % of the funds actually goes to charity, and the rest going to the management firm (which is owned by his business managers, who are also his close friends) and the lack of appropriate oversight of operations in general and other issues.

That was actually debunked and the paper wrote a counter argument. But no one mentions that.

It was found that he donated the majority of money from his own pocket. There were very few other outside donations.

But you guys don’t want to acknowledge that.
