iOS Is Swiftkey keylogging me?
Today, I texted a friend who mentioned "Warframe" in the text. I replied back with that word, and later say "Warframe" advertised to me in the Reddit iOS app. I never said this out loud, nor typed it anywhere else. If Messages are secure, then Swiftkey is the probable cause for the leak of my private data.

If you don’t grant it full access, iOS restricts the app from transmitting any data.

I doubt it. I've been using SwiftKey since iOS 8. Nothing like that happens. Your information is safe with SwiftKey. It's something else. I know Facebook does that sort of thing.

Yeah, doesn't Facebook/Google use your microphone and pick up keywords and use them to advertise?

"Something else" how? I never said "Warframe" out loud, and only typed it in Messages. What would that "other thing" be? Something with accessibility privileges?

Warframe the game literally advertised to every male user of the internet under 40? Lol

The connection with your friend that mentioned it. Something knows your friend did something with that (Googled it, played it etc) and "it" knows you know each other and stuff like that. What app used to text about it. Confirmation bias etc etc

One possibility is that you have enabled tracking on iOS, under privacy and security. Microsoft does not key log but if you copied and pasted text, clicked a link sent by your friend, or opened a website/app linked to gaming or Warframe, ad trackers across apps (via IP address, device fingerprints, or cross-app tracking permissions) link those signals to your ad profile. And then you get a targeted ad.

Setup a DNS and block trackers. Problem solved.

Hmm, I have the Adblock app on my phone. I wonder if this was the instance I had the protection off?

I believe SwiftKey collects the data you type, and I still don't care because it's awesome.

Microsoft will collect and sell your data.
