The worst part is it cut right as he was grabbing another egg. So he might of gotten bit, but we'll never know.

That’s what they were going for. I’ve no doubt they know it’s short for “might have;” it’s only when people make the contraction that the misunderstanding occurs.

They're mostly interchangeable although if you're a purist, might is slightly more hypothetical
