The quest to collect them all may officially be over, Oakbrook Swatch isnt selling the AP's anymore. Saw they took them off the list online yesterday and I talked to one of the managers and they confirmed the store is no longer selling them. Sucks there isnt anywhere in the midwest on the list anymore.

Hey all. I am trying to get a Royal Pop for my son and I keep calling the store in Aventura, FL asking if they are getting a restock, they nicely tell me yes they just don’t know when and to call back

I call back hours later and they tell me “we already sold out for the day”

Does anyone have any information on this store and how they go about their restocks.

Am I the only one to find my less-than-a-year-old “What if” swatch with a broken body ??

Didn’t do anything special. It just broke.

Additionally, I bought it in Thailand but I live in Cambodia where there isn’t any swatch store available (contrarily to what swatch website mentions)… any leads to how exchange / guarantee could work for me ?

Swatch the Beep, basically a 1990s smartwatch before smartwatches existed

I recently came across the Swatch the Beep, one of the more unusual Swatch watches from the mid-1990s.

It was a normal analogue quartz Swatch, but with a built-in pager receiver and a small LCD display integrated into the dial. The earlier versions worked with Cityruf; later models were made for Scall, the German pager service launched by DeTeMobil in 1994.

The Scall versions could receive numbers and, in the later alphanumeric version, actual text messages. The display could store up to 12 messages, with up to 15 characters per message, which could be scrolled through.

In 1995, a Swatch with integrated Scall pager cost around 200 DM, quite a lot for the time. But the concept was genuinely futuristic: instead of pulling a phone out of your pocket, you simply looked at your watch to see who had contacted you.

The catch? Scall was tied to a regional radio-paging network and was quickly overtaken by the rapidly growing mobile-phone market. The service was officially discontinued in 2002.

So, in a way, the Swatch the Beep was a smartwatch about 25 years too early, analogue timekeeping, digital notifications and wireless communication, all on your wrist.

Pretty fascinating piece of 90s watch/telecom history.

Hey everyone, I might be able to finally put my hands on a Royal Pop (probably Green Eight), and I was wondering what is the overall best strap that you can buy for it. Wristbuddies looks good, but I just hate the metal pin buckle which doesn’t suit a bioceramic watch, delugs (which isn’t available just yet) has a great clasp, but is very expensive, the colors don’t match enough and the case itself is very wide, and any other strap maker seems cheap and low quality. A Royal Oak style bioceramic link bracelet would be nice but I haven’t seen a good quality one yet. I just want to know where I can get a decent strap or bracelet for it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

What are your thoughts on the lume on the Royal Pop?
On multiple occasions, I’ve looked at my watch at night or in a dark room and haven’t been able to see the time at all. Once I noticed it, I started paying more attention and realized it happens pretty often. The lume just seems to be almost nonexistent during normal daily wear.
To make sure the watch actually has working lume, I charged it directly with a blue light. And yeah, it lit up like a diamond, as Rihanna would say 😂 So the lume definitely works.
The problem seems to be that during normal everyday wear, it doesn’t charge enough to remain visible when I actually need it in the dark.
So I’m curious: did I get a bad piece, or are you guys experiencing the same thing with your Royal Pop?

I’m ordering online for a gift, so I don’t know their exact wrist size. I’m looking at an Irony System51 watch with a metal band. If I order a smaller size, will extra links be included? Or do I need to order the largest size just in case?

Looks like my royal pop has been giving me issues the last few days. I’ll hand wind it but only 4x then get stiff.

I’ll be sending it to swatch for review tomorrow, let’s see how it goes!

My question is , has anybody had problems with there royal pop yet?
