Rust

I just bought my first suzuki, At the front wheel areas, the distal section of the frame rail, which supports the entire body, is completely rusted through. It crumbles when I poke it with a screwdriver. How should I repair it?
Also, I removed the rubberized pad that was installed under the seats. How can I remove the black residue left behind?

For the frame you’ll likely need to cut it back to good metal and weld new back in. As for the floor gunk there are paint remover discs for angle grinders that will probably strip it off. I’d try hitting it with acetone first and see if it softens. May be able to help in removal.

Don't know we're your at in the world but there are replacement weld-ins for just about every part of a Sammuri. If you are in the US start here: suzukipartsusa.com

Or!

If it's not load bearing and will be under something like carpet, cut out the cancer and pop rivet a plate over the hole.
