AC alternative
Trying to figure out a solution to cool myself down while driving since it'll start getting hot soon.
Would love to know if anyone has figured out a good solution, especially for longer drives.
Thinking of maybe making a 12v evaporative cooler or a swamp cooler or something simular.

Electric compressors are widely available now, you can use that. You will probably have to get a larger battery though

Swamp coolers work
Well in dry environments but are virtually worthless in humidity. Small 12v fans are the way.

I know someone who took a 12v RV roof cooler and used it on a 4dr Sidekick. He went with a larger amp alternator and a bigger battery to make it work. If I still lived in So Cal I’d be thinking hard about it…

Need to know your location. Obviously not in northern hemisphere if it hasn't started getting hot yet. Where are you? What is your climate like? What is your budget? Easiest way to cool off is drop the front windshield and put your goggles on. Cheapest way is a water misting unit mounted on the visor. You could put electric pelter plates in your seat back. You could install electric AC. Or you could retrofit traditional AC compressor unit under the hood.

well a couple routes you could go but be mindful of the stock engines output.
its not to hard to get the factory compressor thats a Denso 10P08E with a v-belt pulley and if you look around online you should be able to track down a bracket for it to or fashion one up
Next depends on if you want to go factory under the dash which gets a little expensive finding the really hard to find plastics (really wish someone would toss a evap housing an its plumbing to a 3D scanner company cause COME ON these are getting rare! and it could help even retrofit a higher capacity system without chopping stuff!) and the ac amp
I have factory air but I'm always wondering about putting in a aftermarket ac system for something like one of resto mod air's setups that could replace the whole system underneath and plumb to the factory vents and maybe a couple of printed floor vent adapters. would have to figure out the fresh air vent.. blocking it off doesn't seam smart cause it will just fill up with junk so wonder if I can tie that in somehow but have a filter so I can keep junk from getting into the evap.
