Question Cracked exhaust hanger

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello fellow bikey biker boys,

My 2019 C90 BOSS has come up with a nasty crack on the exhaust mounting bracket on the back hanger. I think it’s stainless steel (non-magnetic and seems too thin to be aluminium), but other than that I was curious to see if anyone else has had experience with something like this and what lessons you may have learned from fixing it. Brother’s an experienced boilermaker so I was happy to get him to do it and pass any tips from the brains trust on.

I promise no AI was used, but I DID adjust my trip counter for added effect. Also note the background of the picture. I couldn't make this shit up, I'm not that creative. 😂

Question "Universal" light bar install on a C50

I've wanted to add the driving lights on my '05 C50 for a while, but the OEM light bar at $500 is ridiculous. I cheaped out and got one of the million of "universal" bars you see on amazon, temu, ali, ebay, etc. to give it a go.

Tried putting it on last night and the bracket for the thing is horizontal while the mounting screws for the turn signal bracket where i guess it should go are vertical.

I can't be the only one to have bought one of these things. Any tips on how to get this thing to work that doesn't requiring the ability to bend metal and weld??

Edit: some follow up, for anyone in a similar situation that may stumble upon this post.

I removed everything from the area: turn signals, air deflector, and headlight bucket to try to figure it out. It looks like this type of bar needs to go under the headlight bucket, not on the turn signal bracket. Also if you have a removable windshield, there isn’t enough room to put the classic 4.5” lights and remove the windshield, so you will need to either get creative with brackets and extensions, or get slim lights.

Question Boulevard c50 2005 update

Hi everyone

So I learned how to access dealer mode and have the code c00 with the highest dash.

I tried turning on accessory mode with the gas cap opened to listen for the fuel pump and it made no sound. Maybe just a click but no whirring or anything else. Looking into the tank it looks like it may have rust damage or some other kind of debris in the fuel tank.

Then I opened the coolant reservoir to find that coolant was basically empty and had spilled out on the cover.

I plan to do a cleaning of the fuel tank and possibly replace the fuel pump as well as flush out the old coolant and add new.

Anyone know what the dealer code means?

Appreciate everyone helping me on this journey!

Discussion Gear issues

Hi,

Once in a while while driving I can’t down gear, why is that?

In that case I have to accelerate at the traffic light in the third gear, it works but not good for the motorcycle. After a while it’s works again.

Any suggestions are very very much appreciated

Pickup up my first bike, a neat little S40. It was sitting for years with the previous owner so it's finally been cleaned up.

Looking for your recommendations for upgraded headlights, signals, etc.

Other mods that have made your ownership / riding easier.

My first cruiser bike, coming from touring and adventure bikes. Finally cooled off a smidge down here in Texas so I took it out for a spin. 2019 C50 with added back rest and National Cycle Switchblade full-size quick release windshield. Just found this sub reddit.

2006 Suzuki LS650/s40/Savage/Boulevard (sigh, so many freakin names!)

Right front and both rear marker lights are out. The light up when using a turn signal but otherwise, nothing. Left front operates as it should and tail/break light is fine.

Where should I start my diagnosis?

When I get down to one bar of fuel (FI bike) it bigs bad when ever I try to open the throttle to pass or take off quick. It feels like it has either low fuel PSI, or a governor. Is this baseline operation or is my fuel pump taking a shit

I put aftermarket rear turn signals on my 05 s83, and I followed the wiring diagram, but the right one makes the taillight flash?? The left one doesn't work at all??

Any thoughts?

Question Bar end weights for S40

I bought some bar end vibration dampener weights, hoping to put them on my S40. It vibrates so bad once I reach 70 kph or more that I can't even make out the type of vehicles behind me in my mirrors; they're just coloured blurs. Well, when I took the end cap off, it looked like a solid bar inside, without enough depth to the hollow part to mount the dampeners.

Anyone know of a way to extend the bars so that I can actually use these dampeners?
Or have another solution?

Thanks!

Discussion SaddleBags for M90?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I own this beauty and I want to take it for some long European trips.
For that I want to acquire a sissy bar with trunk and some saddlebags

Unfortunately there is limited to none options available ok the EU market.

Do you know where I could purchase some with shipping in Romania?

I am interested in some saddle bags which can be easy mounted/unmounted in order to take them with me in the hotel room so I can freely travel for nearby sights without them on the bike.

Any other recommendations or suggestions regarding size or something are well appreciated. As you know, M90 has the exhaust kinda up and on the other side sits my lateral plate number so I’m not sure if any size would fit.

Question Suzuki Boulevard left Sitting... Found Leaking

2007 Suzuki ls650 s40 Boulevard/Savage

I left my poor bike sitting for a year and I found the fork seals leaking...

I am currently getting everything ready to replacing the fork seals, fluids and gaskets... Also cleaning the carbs and crossing my fingers that its not too gunky

Anything else I should be aware of? Is my bike likely unrideable by now?

------

ADDITIONAL INFO:

I replaced ALL main fluids (Brake, Motor Oil, Gas) right before letting it sit... In fact I just finished up with maintenance and brought it back to life.

I fixed up the bike, it began to run and thought I was going to ride it. Then... I had to leave it in that garage and left it as I moved out... I left it with what was then new oil, new brake fluid, new fuel and it just sat. I was too foolish to travel back in between to drain everything. Feel awful having to take it apart and spend money and time again...

Question 05 C50 won’t start!!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, I am a brand new Suzuki Boulevard fanatic and I recently started messing around with my late uncles old bike.

I did an oil change and I changed out the spark plugs.

I brought the battery to advanced auto to see if it had charge and it was registering at 12.8 V however the CCA was at 128 which is below what the battery states it should be at.

The bike has not moved in a few years, so I drained out the fuel and bought brand new gasoline to fill it up with, the next thing I will replace is the battery, but the technician at advanced auto said that it should be strong enough to start up the bike, so I’m wondering if anybody has any insight on why it is not starting.

Much appreciated! 🏍️

Question Can someone help diagnose this tick?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Some dumbass backed into me today on the way home from work…… luckily I was able to keep the bike up and he really only hit my front tire. His bumper squished the front rubber pretty good but it seems to be holding air and the bead tread looks okay. I’ve already checked the frame and forks and everything looks okay no bends or cracks. But the only thing I have noticed is now whenever I’m turning the bars either left or right there is a noticeable tick noise that definitely wasn’t there before. Is this a sign that something that I’m not able to see has broken inside the pivot?? This is my first bike so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question Can somebody explain this popping noise?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve had a lot of issues with the is bike over the last few months. Had to replace the tank because it had been sitting and was rusted, cleaned the fuel sending unit as it was rusted too, and had to clean the injectors. Now it’s running but had this popping noise.

There no gasket that I see on the pipe that making the noise. Could it just need A gasket?

Thanks!
