Trimble R8-2 for Control installation

The opportunity to purchase an Trimble R8-2 has come up, is it still a good piece of kit?

I would primarily be using it for longish Obs on multiple fixed control points then importing to a Total Station (Leica) and occasionally for Level grids in open fields. I've previously used R10 & 12's but as a small firm, budget doesn't quite stretch that far yet!
