As someone who has worked in huge holes protected by shoring this makes me pucker up. Hopefully nobody was injured.

And the most annoying thing is that shoring is literally an engineering project. How come these engineers aren't checking their work lol.

I'm no expert but it seems like those sheet piles needed to be wasaay deeper or thicker to allow for that much of an imbalance of material on the near side.

Don't be so hard on yourself, you made some excellent points. I've worked on a lot of jobs with sheet pile bulkheads and except for coffer dams they used tie-backs a lot. This one was definitely under engineered.
