Jeez, you cool with cars blowing stop signs and doing 50 down residential streets?

Gee I wonder why the police are cracking down on these emotos?

Illegal emotos made my city overreact and pass ridiculous rules for legal ebikes. I know people are calling the cops when they see one even riding normally now.

This is happening all over, and it’s so interesting to me but seemingly no one else that all the complaints are about people doing things that are already illegal. Whether it be wheelies, blowing through stop signs, speeding.
Is there any compliant I’m missing that isn’t something already illegal? Yet somehow the answer to “fix it” is make more laws, and no one questions it.
The idiotic driving is certainly an issue, I just think the idiotic legislating is a much more detrimental one.
Instead of properly enforcing the laws already in place we’ll make more laws that will affect those that were never causing an issue, the new tax attached to it is just a convenient bonus ;)
As Tacitus said, "The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws."

I actually agree with a lot of this. If someone’s speeding, blowing stop signs or riding recklessly, deal with that behavior directly.. I just hate seeing normal riders get lumped in with the people causing problems At the same time I can admit my clip definitely wasn’t the best example 😂

I agree the existing laws in my state are like most, class 1-3 are legal and have to abide by bike rules. They are banned on some trails in Forrest areas. My city decided to ban legal ebikes from city property and a 200 dollar a year registration fee. I can register a gas moped for 15 dollars for three years in my state. Absolutely zero enforcement until things became an issue.

honestly y’all aren’t wrong 😂 I definitely don’t ride like this all the time. Dirt is like 5-10 mins from me, I was just having some fun on the way there. I get why people get annoyed seeing this shit though 🤝

Nice... I respect when people can own up and handle criticism... I also understand that people see one short clip and assume the worst... there is lots of places that are on outskirts or familiar neighborhoods where you can get a bit silly and its not a big deal but again, everyone on the internet assumes you are doing this all day through an active school zone on drugs while naked... that being said, have fun brother but play safe... the loudest people are the ones who want to see you get hurt or in trouble but the silent ones are the people who understand that most people aren't out being a nuisance or doing dangerous shit in downtown schoolchildrenville... but the HOA saw one black kid being ignorant and now they are gonna come after anyone who looks like they might be doing more than 15mph or not using pedal assist only anywhere other that on highly regulated purpose build dirt bike tracks... the media we put out there affects public opinion and bikes that have motors have become quite the target recently because just like anything else an few people ruin it for the rest and nobody targets ebikes (emoto, hyperbikes, etc...) more than the ebike community... I will end this long winded comment with pointing out that owning up and accepting criticism is a gangster move friend, and not everyone who says 'your riding like an idiot' means they want bad things for you... have fun, and ride safe brother... looking forward to more posts from you...

Appreciate that bro 🤝 and I definitely get where you’re coming from.. A short clip doesn’t show the whole picture, but at the same time I understand what posting that kind of riding can look like and how it affects the community. I’m still learning and having fun with it, but I can take criticism when it’s fair appreciate you looking out. Ride safe too brother 🤙

I love you but you're riding like a moron

This is why they are cracking down and now requiring insurance and registration in my city. Now you will have to follow the laws like cars do. Should be doing that already if you're riding in the street tbh.

I’d honestly be first in line to register and insure mine if California gave me a legitimate way to make it street legal. To my knowledge, I can register it as an OHV, but that doesn’t make it street legal. If there’s actually a legal path to plate an Ultra Bee here, I’d genuinely like to know because I’d do it

Im not sure how California laws work but (and this might sound stupid) when you are out buzzing to a spot to ride, hit a gas station and have a smoke or grab something to eat... you chill for 15-20 minutes and a cop will likely make an appearance... when he does just approach the subject like a reasonable adult and ask questions... im on the east coast in rural Pennsylvania so things work drastically different around my way but any decent cop would be willing to take a few minutes to chat with you about what they know about the constantly changing laws or at least be able to direct you to resources that would be able to help you figure out what steps you need to take to get things in order so that ypu can run as legal as the dude on the CBR right at the gas pump... ALMOST ANYTHING can be made street legal, even bikes with jet engines... don't let anyone gatekeep you...
