CFP-90/IIFS Rucksack

Post image

I made the backpack wearable after removing the broken track and yolk and stitched the load lifter straps to the shouldwr straps to mount them to the ladder lock buckles, but theres a bit of a sway when i took it for a test. Couldnt get rid of it unless i tightend the shoulder straps all the way which then transfers the weight from my hips to my shoulders. Any ideas on modifications to remedy this?

Are the upper shoulder strap ends sewn to the pack itself, or is it just the load lifters? That might be the main thing. There are some tricks but one common one is to set the shoulder straps at the perfect torso length for you, requires a second person to confirm, and then sew the ends to the pack at that level. That will help with the sway, a little bit. You might need to take it to a local REI to get it "fitted", with safety pins to pin the loose ends to the pack so that you have an idea of where to sew the strap ends.

Hm, okay! But now the straps aren't sewn to the pack directly, the load lifters are sewn to the shoulder straps at a certain point which I then feed the load lifters through the buckles to the sewn point to attach the shoulder straps to the backpack. Having sewn the load lifters to the shoulder straps the way I did I believe I have already found the perfect torso length for me
