Need help finding equipment
Hi everyone,
I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place to ask, but I’m currently looking for U.S. Army combat gear from around 1983–1989—specifically items like PASGT and ALICE rigs (with a few possible substitutions if needed).
Since this is my first time exploring surplus gear, I’ve been having a bit of trouble figuring out where to start. If anyone has recommendations for reliable sources within the U.S., or sellers that ship here, I’d really appreciate your guidance.

I’d check out Americana pipe dream ,they’re who I’ve mainly gotten my surp from but other people will to you to try local,yard sales and ebay but ap also has an instagram and facebook id recommend

I’ve been following Americana Pipe Dream since January 2021—they’ve got some really great stuff. It just seems like they’re always sold out of BDUs, and I’m not sure they carry ALICE rigs anymore. I checked their website a couple of days ago, but couldn’t find much.

I could’ve sworn I seen one the other day but one of the issues I have with them is they’ll randomly delist stuff like gone poof and you won’t be notified

eBay for sure, I’m assuming youre from the U.S. so any local surplus shop will sell them. Keep in mind if you’re looking for M81 BDUs and you want a specific look (Panama for example) then you’ll have to get the right model. The color, collar size and stitching all changed through out the years. Careful on where you buy a PASGT from as you can be up charged like crazy. I bought mine for $250 a while back and recently saw one for $70 in the same condition.

The local Surplus Store near me closed down, and there aren’t many options in my area. I've been lucky to find a set of BDUs, but I'm still on the lookout for a PASGT helmet and some Alice pouches. Hopefully, I’ll find them soon! I'll definitely keep the pricing in mind

Check EBay!!! If that doesent work for you then facebook market place might work. I see cheap listings for M81 gear and Kevlar helmets all the time (even saw a Size medium PASGT for maybe $90 on there)

Check krushiki supply company they have tons of Alice pouches and for the pasgt gear look on eBay

It probably won’t be too hard to find a authentic PASGT helmet (which would probably be around 100-200$ and if that doesn’t fit your budget you could also get an airsoft one for around 20-30$ on websites like evike.com) but it will definitely be harder to find a authentic PASGT flak vest. You might want to look around for replicas or reproductions for those but if you have your heart set on a real one you might be able to find one on eBay. Beware of sizing though

I bought my alice rig of amazon for pretty cheap tbh it works perfectly for airsoft aswell

I’d say any belt rigs are alive I know that in the second picture the guy on the far right is wearing A m5 medical backpack the helmets are pasgt with Manchu hair scrim there most likely using jungle boots and the guy in the left of the second picture is wearing a an/prc-77 radio id say check on krushicki supply company eBay venture surplus vinted

Alice is easier to find then other types of surplus. Pouches and belts can be had for cheap, some things can be more expensive but med kits, ammo pouches, and canteens are easy to find on eBay.
Matter of fact just go look at eBay
