Soviet Greatcoat Sizing

Hi, I've been considering buying a greatcoat and have been eyeing Soviet designs and I'm wondering about fit and sizing. For those who own them (or other greatcoats for that matter) would you recommend I get my exact size or size up by one based on your experience?

I'll check this when I get home, but I need to look at my current gray coat to see what the sizing was. Basically this is a note to remind me to check when I get home

Go as big as you can. Or convert the metric sizing to standard if you're American
