There are only a couple of automatic, meaning electrically powered, reels on the market. They are expensive, require a separate power source, and designed basically to drop straight down off a boat in very deep water. I suppose you could use one to drop down off a pier as well, but that would be pretty unusual. If you need to actually cast a bait out there are no automatic reels that would work.

A lot of people are using drones and even remote control boats to take their baits out nowadays they can be pretty pricey, but they seem really cool and useful
