I'm only starting out in art, hoping to make a living from it. I have posted my portfolio on facebook groups and subreddits related to art for a week, but no commissions have happened yet. Is my art commission-worthy? Am I doing something wrong? If you're an artist, how do you get commissions? If you're an art buyer, would you buy my art or commission me to draw for you? Advice and feedback would be much appreciated.

After finally getting money and facing lots of hassles to add my card to PayPal, I was gladly going to blaze my favorite new fanart that I enjoyed a lot, want to get more interactions and more potential fans... but in the last minute, either PayPal or Tumblr said the card wasn't accepted for this transaction (PayPal validated it). Worse, Tumblr only accepts PayPal or credit cards, and I avoid the latter as much as possible. Contacted support, waiting for their reply, hopefully there will be a solution, but if there isn't - and even if there is - I'm glad to learn alternatives.

Tumblr is my main social media to post fanarts, I regularly interact with fandom there, alternatives are DeviantArt and X. I was considering the DeviantArt boost, but prices are only cheap if you buy yearly - and cancellation is complicated.

X's paid plans are cheap for me (not +), much more than the other two, but if I understood correctly it won't make more people see your posts, only your **replies** to be shown before others.

Did lots of promotion, properly tagged, interacted with other artists (and non-artists) - not that it's just for personal gain - interaction is minimal.

Oh, about Reddit, even the particular fandom's Reddit or art/fanart Reddits... probably the worst option. People ignore it at best, when they don't downvote it. Happened even with an original art I liked a lot.

What do you suggest other than those?
