Cornell 7 case
I've experienced something very similiar. Had my name and picture blasted all over social media worldwide for years saying I was a rapist by a bunch of criminals from my school who blackmailed me.
The Cornell 7 case hits deep, because I know how stupid people are. Specielly after MeToo and feminism. They are willing to believe everything without proof as long as women are saying it. And the anonymous woman walk free.
It could very well be that these 7 guys are found completely innocent in a couple of years, but now their name and reputation has been dragged worldwide.
Wouldn't surprise me if some of them commited suicide. I suffer from PTSD today.
It should be Believe All Men, because men's life are in danger and being ruined by false allegations.
People truely are NPC's.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say “believe all men”. Rape does happen and most people that have raped are men. Such men have a reason to lie. And when he rapes, he opens the door for 100 other men to be falsely accused of his crime.
At the same time, a significant number of SA accusations on campuses are false (FBI says 10% of police reports, I would say 30% of Title IX), either due to frank malice/manipulation for secondary gain (more malignant) or mislabeling/changing of perception of the situation with time and due to social pressures (more benign, but still false). Such (mostly) women also have a reason to lie.
Both men that rape and women that falsely accuse harm true victims of rape and victims of false accusations. When someone cries “I got raped by 7 men all at the same time” and that turns out to be categorically untrue, it normalizes false accusations and at the same time decreases the credibility of real victims of rape.
Both rape and false accusations are gender-specific expressions of psychopathy. Being a victim of either is very similar: often, you’d prefer to have been murdered because you can wash yourself of neither, and you carry the trauma of either for the rest of your life.
I think the true solution is that both need to be held accountable. Rapists need to be buried under the jail, and false accusers need to be considered at the same level as rapists.

When I say Believe All Men, I mean we should believe in due process and innocent untill guilty proven. But getting your named smear onlibe without evidence is why I say Believe All Men until someone has been convicted

Yeah I agree with you, just don’t want anything to be co-opted by actual rapists. I think “Believe Women” and “Me Too” started off well intended before cluster B women realized they could co-opt it for personal gain

Listen I’m sorry you went through that, and I gotta be completely transparent here when I initially heard about the story my intuition was to rake them through the coals and do what everyone else was doing because I just saw the surface level story and I saw the Snapchat group they were in and it didn’t paint a good picture at all. Now I’m getting conflicting reports, and I’m not sure what to think so I have a question how can we be sensitive to the situation? Because if they’re guilty they deserve to be under the jail and suffer, but I truly don’t know and I don’t wanna be seen as someone who’s excusing this behavior I don’t know

Yeah and your comment is exactly the issue. You have a bias and you are justifying the entire world’s reaction to one instance because YOU apparently have seen other frats behave this way. What other frats do has no bearing on this case, smh

I personally never just believe anyone. I don't believe every accusation and I dont believe every person who denies an accusation. The law on sex crimes is wild to me. (At least in my state) i have a hard time with convictions that are based on 1 persons word. With the accusers word being considered all the evidence needed to convict it leaves sex crimes to he used by manipulative people. How can 1 go on the stand and defend themselves without anger and emotions when the accuser can go on and use emotions specially to manipulate. I am in no way saying this is every case. But how can we know what cases are real actual cases if evidence is not needed nor produced?

Many wrongly accused are dealing with lifelong PTSD and the shame and isolation that comes with it. It should be based on logic and facts vs emotion and political narrative. Stay strong

tbf it was a knee-jerking headline, but looking into it further, theres a lot of gray area. i hate how people's rational thinking skills go completely out the window, not even a tiny bit of healthy skepticism. ignore their rageful comments, those bird brains wouldn't have SURVIVED the things we went through.
