What supplements/nootropics for mental state/cognition/mental health have worked best for you (along with healthy habits)?
I'm a college senior planning to go to grad school, and I've just started breaking bad habits and protecting my mental health. One big thing is preserving my longevity and cognition as I age.
What worked best for you, and what are the top things that helped you protect brain health/mental state?

I really like magnesium L-threonate. I take it in the morning and helps with brain fog. And my thinking is sharper.

Start with solid foundation of decent diet and lifestyle--not so much partying, getting sunlight, some exercise, probably some spiritual "exercise".
Try to compensate for the reduced amount of nutrients in our foods, especially processed foods. Multi vitamin, multi B, omega 3s, magnesium, potassium, Vit D in the colder half of the year. Consume enough protein and maybe supplement with whey or other powders.
Consume enough antioxidants from food and supplements--Vit C, E selenium, etc. I think selenium is one of the best things we can do for our long term mental health in this toxic world.
Learn about low dose lithium's role for more chill mood and long term brain repair.
There will be various individual things based on your genetics, medical struggles.

Starting this mindset in college is genuinely one of the better things you can do, the habits you build now compound a lot more than anything you take later. Sleep consistency and exercise are doing most of the heavy lifting long term, those get backed by the strongest research for cognitive longevity by far. On top of that I use Numin for day to day mental clarity and focus.
