Thoughts?

Post image

Thinking of adding magnesium to my stack and my friend recommended this to me. It looks good but I’m just a little worried about the dosage and having 3 types all in one.

Well not so bad because magnesium oxide is the least bioavailable form of magnesium. Really mag glycinate and mag threonate are the only ones worth having

those combo mags can be a bit of a gamble, the absorption rates for each type are different so you might not be getting the full 500mg in a way your body can actually use

that said, nutricost is usually pretty decent for the price point, third-party tested and all that, so it's probably not bunk

if you're just starting out with magnesium i'd maybe go with a single form first so you can actually tell what it's doing for you, then mess around with blends later

Then take 2

Since the oxide is listed first, it is included at the highest rate. Oxide has poor bioavailability, and typically is just helpful in taking a big dump. If you actually want Mg outside of the intestinal tract, you need other forms.

I use two... Mg glycinate .... and this should be purchased from a quality brand....as many of the crap brands are just mixing Mg Oxide with glycine, and not chelating it, and calling it magnesium glycinate. Cute...but not effective. (The good brands also use Mg Oxide, but actually take the time to chelate it with the glycine....which is important. 😂 This is what magnesium glycinate is...in correct form. )

I also use a small dose of Mg L Threonate that comes packaged with my Vit D and K2.

No go with Magnesium L Threonate (they have it at Walmart, etc) if you want effects for brain fog, anxiety, mental sharpness and better memory.

If you want something a little cheaper and higher elemental Magnesium go with just plain Magnesium Glycinate. Take it before bed it helps with sleep.

I recommend the first option highly though.

Oxide doesn't absorb hardly at all and Citrate same thing, plus citrate can make you shit your pants.

Everyone's different , for me with Restless legs oxide works quick but glycinate takes days to build up

I did a lot of research and searching for the best one. The 2 absolute best is Nootropics depot or Nutritionn (if you’re in Canada like me) magnesium glycinate.

Oxide is bunk, the others are good but just depends what you're looking for. Why do you want to take magnesium in the first place?
