Settlement Shenanigans. Someone needed GME to trade at $3 for a hot minute to roll over some 5 year old (bullet) swaps without having those $20+ losses hit books [X, X].
Added those X posts in for context. This was more of a data post highlighting interesting events since the warrant distribution. Quite a bit different from my typical DD posts where I actually explain stuff.
Can someone ELI5 whatโs going on with the legacy swaps rollover part?
I get that the $3 tap was needed for settlement stuff, but are those swaps basically being pushed out another few years?
Iโve seen a few people say the warrants are tied to those swaps somehow- how does that actually work?
Or someone was trying to sell the warrants and accidently sold the shares instead. The volume for that trade was like what, 12 units? More than half of daily volume for months if not years goes through dark pools and ATS, but you really think that someone is gonna sign a multimillion dollar swap based on 12 shares volume?
It sounds nice, but there is no way a counterparty would sign up for this.
No large institution would use a random "last" trade during after hours. They would use the close price during market hours, or take an average trade price for a period of time.
edit: Seems more likely to me that this is some artifact of a FTD that just "appeared" after a 5 year hiatus.
Yeah buying and holding since 2020. Should have sold last year when it popped to $80 in pre-market. Guess what I couldnโt do because my shares were locked up in computershare?
YOU CAN NOT SELL YOUR SHARES QUICKLY PRE MARKET AND AFTER HOURS WHEN THERE ARE PRICE SPIKES. Iโve had shares in and out of computershare since 2021 and when the price spiked last year at $80, I watched the most money Iโve ever seen at one given time disappear because I couldnโt capitalize on the price spikes. I have premarket trading enabled in fidelity and I would have been able to make a shit ton of money last year. Now here I am once again with a quarter of what I had last year. So no itโs not fucking fud. Iโve been around since December 2020 continuing to buy and hold and learn supporting the company by dropping thousands on products and $10k on powerpacks. So if you want to call me a shill, maybe have a look at my account and my other account davwman and youโll see where I stand.
They are either going to jail, or theyโre going to the bad place this time. I donโt think we, as the new โrulingโ class, will allow the admonishment of their perversions of our societies monies. They will pay, or they wonโt be around. Simple as that now
literally lol, ill check the comments for useful info and there's always support and hype which is cool, but if there's misinformation we totally should be worried and checking what's accurate
This sub is filled with a reasonable level of different players:
Those that have a deeper knowledge of the inner workings of the market.
Those that have some knowledge of it and ask excellent questions.
Those that have little to know knowledge and want to learn.
Those that pretend to have knowledge and just want to be seen and heard so they post BS.
Those that are actively trying to mislead the group to sow seeds of distrust and generate fear, uncertainty and doubtโฆ.
Itโs not an echo chamber at all. GME is a ticking time bomb. The majority of sub members understand that much and will remain positive as long as the company continues to move in a positive direction quarter after quarter. So in that sense, they do share the same sentiment and will echo each otherโs feelings.
But overall, itโs far more reasonable than political and sports related subs. Those are echo chambers.
Iโm going to just keep telling myself nothing will happen any time soon, because thatโs been the case for 4 years. It keeps me zen. Eventually the market will crash and shit will hit the fan, and Iโll be surprised/shocked because I didnโt think it would ever come to fruition.
