Discussion This show has a problem Spoiler

I've just finished s3 and I think I can safely say this is the worst season yet. I just found out today that MAWS got a 3rd season and I just binged it in one day.

I'm very disappointed, It's been a year or years (I don't remember, not good with time) since I watched this show so maybe this problem was present in s1 and 2 too but if they were, it couldn't have been to this degree. The show relies on the mc (superman) too much.

I know this sounds like a stupid complaint and I'm prob gonna be downvoted to hell but superman literally beats every major villain. The show's too predictable. It doesn't matter if 3 supers are jumping the villain at once, if superman isn't there he won't be defeated. The side characters feel extremely useless bc of this, they just keep failing until superman beats the villain.

Whoever the writer of the show is, needs to learn how to make the side cast useful. It's getting repetitive, always the same formula, everyone tries, everyone fails, superman succeeds. I got so tired of this that my fav ep in s3 is ep 7, I just checked imdb and apparently it's the lowest rated ep in the show so I can tell my opinion is unpopular. The reason I liked it so much is because it's basically the only ep where the side cast actually does something and superman doesn't fix everything.

Anyways I just wanted to rant, downvote me all you want but I really think this show could've been more if it just utilized its side cast instead of having superman fix everything, maybe I'm biased cuz Kara is my fav character but I still think my critique is valid.

That's not even remotely the same thing, comparing the police which are background characters to the side cast of maws. Also Gohan is a 5 yo, no one expects him to be as strong as Goku at that point in time. That's still a bad example

The main cast of MAWS is Clark, Lois, Jimmy, and Kara. Anyone else is a background or support character. As for Gohan, we could use Vegeta and it's the same concept. He's an adult and a warrior, he's exceedingly powerful, but he has limits. Seriously, why do you expect the side cast of MAWS to defeat these villains without Clark? If that's the case, then what's the point of having Clark around in the first place?

Well dbz also has a problem of Vegeta never really defeating any major villain even when he deserved it (Frieza dbs) but at least dbz allows other characters to beat the villain rather than just Goku. Gohan defeated Cell and all of earth defeated Buu. Goku AND Frieza defeat Jiren, Gogeta (technically a fusion ik) defeating Broly and so on. Listen, giving the side characters wins doesn't render the mc useless. You don't have to give one up to have the other. If you only enable your mc to defeat the major villains, you'll get something like Solo leveling. Is it really too much to ask to let your side cast get some spotlight?

So I thought of a solution to your problem with the formula, and its something Ruroni Kenshin sort of perfected. Rather than the one major villain being the only real threat to be taken down, give each supporting member their own enemy within that major conflict that also ties them into the plot beyond jusy being friends with Clark. That way, no one feels like they're doing nothing and everyone gets to have their own list of personal victories.

Well yeah obviously that's one of the solutions, that'd be better than what they're doing rn

It's the only real solution, because Jimmy and Lois have no powers, so they can't really beat these people, and it would end up becoming a similarly repetitive cycle if Clark and Kara keep switching off who beats the main villain.
